Knowing my family's luck, if we stand any chance of winning the Castle Suite it will be on our departure day (we will be in MK that morning, before heading out to MCO).... I know that if faced with that "dilemma", DD (7), DS(6) and I would rather walk back to CT than pass up the opportunity.... (DH's 1st question would be how much $$ is the add'l day going to cost!)

Has anyone thought about what you would do if your "dream come true" came with the price of changing your flight home?

It really depends on your airline. I think if you called them and explained, they would work something out with you. I know Midwest Express charges $100 per ticket for any flight changes.

I just want to add, don't spend your vacation waiting to receive a "Dream Prize" I actually forgot about it when I was down there. I did see "Dream Cast Members" 3 guys running out of the Land plus people with the Mickey Ear's and Fast Pass Laynards. Other than that I pretty much forgot about it.

We are driving, so I'd still stay and just get up a little early. I wouldn't want to pass up the opportunity!!!

Another reason NOT to visit a park on departure day. DH are planning on a nice, late breakfast at Boma and maybe a trip to DTD. Wait! I've heard of people winning the castle stay there, too!

Drats!!!

I drive in so that wouldn't be a problem for me, but I would move heaven and earth to stay at the castle, so moving a flight (or buying a whole new ticket) wouldn't seem like that big of a deal.

I'd send the kids home and stay alone for one peacefully perect castle night!!

They would never speak to me again!

I'd pay the airfare change to stay for that though

I really wouldn't worry about it until you're placed in that situation. It's not even really worth contemplating.

No "worries" Vemnox - just playful contemplation! Any "dream" on any day would be well received by me!! (Hint, hint!!) ;)

During our recent trip to WDW I told my husband that this exact situation would be "just our luck" ...I prepared him ahead of time that IF this situation arose, we WOULD be making arrangements to stay one more night....however, my pixie dust :wizard: must have been old...we were never chosen....maybe next time.

Oh I'd definitely stay. No question.
I'd buy whole new airline tickets if I had to, it'd be worth it. Getting to stay in the Cinderella suite is priceless!

We visited the parks on our departure day and just 1.5 hrs before we were leaving we ran into the Dream Team - this would be the first and only time we ran into them.

We received Fast Pass lanyards. It figures.........

I would definitely stay to enjoy the castle! How many times are you going to get an opportunity to do that? :goodvibes On the other hand, we just returned from WDW. Like a previous poster, I totally forgot about Year of a Million Dreams until I was handed something on the Buzz Lightyear ride. I thought it was something for the ride until I looked closely at it and noticed it was a dream pass! Our whole family was thrilled and we felt like VIPs all day! So try not to even worry about it and if and when you "get a dream" you'll be even more thrilled! :thumbsup2

My sentiments exactly! (but we drive too, so no problem)

Whoo hoo! Thanks to SW dropping prices again, this might not even be an issue! I may try to convince DH to add a day, but leave earlier in the day so that we won't be in the park on our last day (after I convinced him that we should take a late flight out to make the most of our last day, the poor boy is going to be SO confused!!)

Of course, I will be adding a day for the benefit of the add'l time, NOT just in the hopes of a last day dream!

Any thoughts on the benefits of a late departure vs. early, "get up and go" departure day?

We won the castle suite (fortunately it was on our second out of five nights there) and let me tell you, you would want to rearrange your whole life just to have that opportunity! I would have paid full ticket price for our family of 5 twice just to stay the night in the suite if it was our last day. Have a great trip, and I am hoping that this is something you WILL have to worry aboutpixiedust: pixiedust:

I already told my DH that if it happens, we are staying!:rotfl2: BUT, we aren't going to the parks on our last day, so I know it won't happen... on the last day.... but it will happen earlier in the week! I am being hopefull!:cool2:

DH said OK -- WE JUST ADDED A DAY!!!

Thanks for all the advice -- and for the pixie dust! pixiedust: I feel like I just got a "dream come true", and I haven't even left my house yet!!

I would have to do it. My husband and I were there this past Feb for our long over due honeymoon and we were eating at the castle and a family not far from our table was rewarded the stay. I was bumbed and we told each other even if it wa our last day we would tale the suite. But we drove there and didn't have a airline to think about

I would stay if I won the night in Mickey's Suite (Disneyland). When we were there a few weeks ago I told DBF about it and he said "Are they going to reimburse us for our hotel for the night?" :sad2: He just doesn't get it! I would pay double what we paid per night to stay in Mickey's Suite!

DH and I discussed the same thing, we were driving so we did not have plane tickets to worry about, but we were supposed to be back at work the next day. We decided our bosses would just have to be understanding if we won a night in the castle. DH's boss would not have been a problem he is a Disney fanatic also. Unfortuantly that was not a problem we had to deal with. We were there 8 nights and nine days and got nothing from the dream team. :sad1:
