What would you do with Disney Visa Points?

We have about $3,500 bucks in Disney Visa Points that we have accumulated over the last 5 years. (We have done a lot of construction, bought new home and remodeled, etc.) The first portion has to be put on a card by September, or they will expire. We can't decide what to do with them? I don't want to just use them at DL because we have been there tons of times. We thought about going to WDW at then end of the year and buy passes, etc. I just don't know. Any thoughts would b helpful. Thanks

Since tickets will be good until you start to use them I would buy tickets. If you can buy Disney gift cards, that would be another option. Save the cards to use for dining, etc. at Disney.

I use them to help pay my DVC dues.

I would use it to help pay for your next WDW trip....or buy tickets now and you'll have them forever.

Buy DVC....use that towards it:goodvibes

Wowza, that's a lot of reward dollars! :cool1:

I agree with the others, buy tickets, gift cards (if you're allowed), put towards dues...

Here's another vote for a cruise. Either way, I'd do something big, where you use all the points at one time so you can say "This trip was free." It is cool to have a mother load of gift cards, but then again, it is possible to lose gift cards.

I'd buy 10 day park hopper non expire tickets, and I'd put some toward my dues, the rest I'd use during vacation for food, a special event (like a private tour), and souveniers.:thumbsup2

buy 33 points!! :lmao:

cruise sounds nice too.

I bought 8 10 day passes with no expiration 3 years ago and still have them!! We have 77 days left out of 80!!

I just wanted to say "wow" and you have gotten some great ideas here.

Good luck and let us know what you decided.

BTW - I also bought in 2005 3/10 day park hopper, w/plusses, non-expiration passes. I think the price then was a little under $360 each. Have not used them for our last two trips. These will be good for the next two/three trips for us so I think investing in park tickets is a great idea.

You can use them for anything Disney. WDW, DL, Disney Shopping, and DVC.

I usually get about $1500 in a year, I use them to buy 3 of the four PAP's that I need. Though saving them up longer and using them for the things others have listed sounds pretty good to me--loving the cruise idea!

I never have anywhere near that number of reward dollars but I use the ones I do get to pay down my dues or as a credit against room charges when we're staying at WDW. In other words, I prefer to use them towards what I owe to Disney rather than pay those bills entirely out of pocket. It may not be as exciting as using them for a cruise, but by paying my Disney bills with reward dollars, that frees up cash for anything I might want, not just something Disney related. They get enough of my money as it is!

I'm also cautious about reward programs. I wouldn't want to build up a huge balance and then get caught short if they decide to cancel the program and impose a short time frame to use up any remaining rewards. I prefer to spend the reward dollars as opportunities come up (annual dues, annual passes and room charges, for example) and keep my rewards balance as low as possible.

LisaS I agree with you about rewards programs. I almost added that point of the programs stopping to my original reply about doing the cruise. I use mine to pay for extras at WDW or for the cruise. With this economy any thing can change!

:thumbsup2 Lisa. You never know if the rules are going to change on you.

We use our rewards for room charges or last year had enough to cover my under 10 yr old's AP.

If I had that amount of rewards I would be applying it to my MF's.

I'm using rewards dollars for DDP and DCL cruiseline bus. Then I will be back to "0"!
