So,
our DD just got married last weekend and originally she was going to for to Disney for her honeymoon and I had some concierge night at Jambo for her and some nights at the BW.
Well, they are both teachers and decided to work the summer and go to their honeymoon after they get done. Because I borrowed the points for those July reservations and since they did not know if they were going to go to Disney at all I changed the reservations for us and our DS invited a friend.
Now she wants to go to Disney the first week of August but I don't have any more points since we also have a reservation for October. We are meting some friends from Chicago that already bought their plane tickets, so no way to cancel that one either to give her the points!
I know that I should not be stressing but as a mom, that's kind of hard because I want to help them since she asked for help.

I know that I can rent points but I don't have the money and she doesn't either right after the wedding as you can all understand .
So I was thinking of them staying in a value and we will pay for it as a gift.
I told her that its better to stay on site since they wont have a car even if its in a value so they can go to Disney springs at night and have the buses to take them back if they want too .

Any other ideas?
which value is the better one besides the newer one ?
and what other off site hotel is also a good idea?
thank you in advance !

You might think about the offsite hotels right across the street from Disney Springs. We did that once and walked over to catch buses to the other hotels or even the parks.

The Hilton was literally across the street. I think we found a $99/night rate. I just checked the mousesavers newsletter and there are really decent priced specials right now including the best western lake Buena vista for $62/night. Doubletree suites are $89/night. These are for dates through the end of August. If you pm me with your email addy I can forward the email.

Hope this helps!

If you want to give the gift of Disney, plan for it in the future when they have the time off, some money to spend, and you have the points.

Technically the groom is responsible for the honeymoon, can his family help? You might rent points privately or do a transfer. Also look at a moderate or value with discounts. But it you don't have it you don't have it. Off site will be cheaper, do you know anyone who has direct access to II or RCI?

Was this her wedding gift from you? If yes, is a little awkward even though the bride and groom said they wanted to delay the Disney vacation. If the room was your wedding gift to them, I would pay cash for either renting points or book a stay at Disney cash resort. If it was just a something extra you were doing for them, and you gave them a separate wedding gift, then they need to understand now that they turned down the offer and you cannot change it back. And then offer a vacation on your points at a later date. You need make sure they understand now how a timeshare works as I image they will be asking to use your points many times in the future. Best wishes to the happy couple.

Thank you for all the replies,
We found a really good deal for Coronado Springs, but yes, she now understands how a time share works and all the planning that it takes!
have a great day !
