What would you do if you had only 1 day at WDW?

Hello,

We're two disney-loving adults going to Orlando from aug.29 to sept.1. We can only spend 1 day at WDW staying on-site and we've been trying to come up with a plan. We seem to be more interested in DHS and MK.

1 adult has been to WDW before, the other has never been to Orlando (Excited for first time! :). These are our options:

Option 1) Get 1 day park hoppers for aug.30th. Start with DHS for morning EMH and hit the main attractions until noon. Bus to MK, and finish the day at MK including evening EMH. Pros: TONS of available time from 8am EMH at DHS until 2am! EMH at MK. We were able to score ADRs for CRT and BOG. Cons: Possibly larger park crowds.

Option 2) Get 1 day ticket for DHS and get party ticket for MNSSHP for sept.1st. (We've never been to the halloween party. but they won't have MSEParade) Start at DHS till noon. Bus to Mk at 4pm to finish the day at the halloween party. Potential shorter ride lines. Pros: experience a party that we've never done before. Con: Not enough time to do all classic rides in MK if we'll be focusing on halloween events?

ps: Rides we're interested in at DHS: ToT, RnR, StarTours, Muppets, Frozen-Inauguration-Parade@11am. Rides we're interested in at MK: 7DMT, EtWB, All the mountains, HauntedMansion, SmallWorld, PeterPan, UnderTheSea, WinniePooh, MonstersLaugh, PiratesCaribbean, Phillarmagic, FantasyParade.. ElectricalParade.

What do you guys think would be a better option? Any other option that we haven't considered? :) Thanks + Cheers! :)

Why not get a park hopper for the 30th & then a 1 day ticket & party ticket for Sept 1st?

Hit up DHS emh on the 30th, do everything there, utilize fp+ to park hop elsewhere and end at MK with parade, wishes & emh there. Then the next day start at MK, and spend the day there going in to the party. Halloween events will take up most of it, but you can also hit up some rides like pooh & the fantasyland rides that won't have long waits during party hours.

Otherwise, I'd use the park hopping emh strategy to get as much park time as possible.

If cost isn't much of an issue and you get in early enough/leave late enough, you can even add in more park time but hitting up whatever has evening EMH the night you get in, and whatever has AM EMH the morning you leave. I find with shorter trips, it's always best to utilize those EMH to really get it all out of Disney

If you do option 2, what are you doing between 12 and 4? If you are really only spending 3 hours at HS, that is not enough time and I think you will feel rushed. In that case I would pick option 1.

If you can spend longer at HS I would probably do option 2 because MNSSHP is one of my favorite events!

katt's suggestion is great though. If you can swing it, I would do that.

I'd go with option one, and have my FP+ already set up for MK in the early afternoon. Those are a LOT more hours, and more bang for your buck. Just be advised that both HS and MK are not suggested parks for that day!

Other than that, I'm with Katt - why not a PH for the first day and a MNSSHP ticket for Monday? If you can swing it, I'd definitely be going for that!

Since it is possible to do something on either the 31s or the 1st, why not do both? If you are really only interested in the two parks, you could stay at DHS longer the first day, and still have lots of time that night at MK, and then sleep in since you don't have to be back at MK until 4. Then you can focus on mostly party stuff and things your missed.

I'd go with option 1, that way the newbie can experience normal wishes and the castle projection show and also ride the rides... the party is more about the parades and stuff so you will have no wait times for rides but you will miss the "normal" MK magic. Why not do option 1 and then add on the party for the other day?? :thumbsup2

Thank you ZehnJahren, wareagle57 and Altoqueenkelly for your input.

After much debate we found a way to attend both days. So We'll be doing PH at DHS and MK and then also experience MNSSHP! :)

Now I gotta subscribe to a first-timer MNSSHP thread :)

Thank you again. Cheers! :)
