What would you do or where would you go for your 40th birthday and why? I have a 40th birthday coming up. I want it to be memorable. I think the obvious answer is WDW. That one is at the top of my list.:thumbsup2 because I want to feel young and adventurous (we may even do adult only:hug:). However, I would love to hear what other ideas are out there. Please include why.:lovestruc Thanks in advance!!

First of all HAPPY BIRTHDAY( upcoming) !!
My cousin and her DH spent her 40th birthday with a land/sea WDW vacation. They loved it! My cousin's DH isn't overly thrilled with WDW like the rest of the family but he really enjoyed the cruise. I know they went to the Adults Only dining restaurant once and did a charter fishing excursion they enjoyed very much.

Well I am going to do the obvious and already have the dates marked on my calendar. :lmao: Disney's 40th celebration will be going on when I turn 40 so we are going to go down, stay at a deluxe :lovestruc hopefully get to do MNSSHP, and try to sneak in some adults only time too by using the resorts kids club.

Hello fellow Wisconsin-ite. I and my husband are turned(ing) the big 4-0 this year.

For my birthday, we went with another couple to CA. We did 2 days in Napa Valley/Sonoma and 2 days in San Francisco. We all loved it there.

For my hubby's b-day, I'm sending him with the guys to Las Vegas.

I like to save Disney to go with the kids, but that's just me.

I'm sure you will find something fun.

I like the idea of an adult only WDW visit. 9 years ago, DW and I went on our honeymoon there and had a great time. I would go club level at Poly, try some of those signature dining restaurants that you don't want to take the children too - Citricos, Narcoossee’s, California Grill, Luau. Hey, throw in the Richard Petty Driving Experience (for me) and a spa visit at SSR for DW and it sounds like a great trip. I think I will go sell her on this idea now.:lmao:

I have decided to buy DVC for my 40th!!! I have have a special savings account that I have been stashing money away because I refuse to finance it.

My family thinks I'm crazy but it's MY 40th and I will celebrate anyway I choose. :snooty: LOL :rotfl2:

Spent my 40th birthday at Disney World (MK). I fell in the parking lot in front of a tram full of people. Skinned my elbow and knee really bad.:sad2: My first attraction, I had to go to the First Aid Station. After that I had a wonderful day. :cloud9:

Happy Birthday!!!

DH and I turned 40 in the same year and we went to France for 10 days to celebrate! We're not the type to go to WDW without kids.

For my 40th, my BIL (who will also turn 40 2 wks after me) and I plan on going skydiving! When we told my hubby, he said fine just so long as you don't expect me to go too! (this will be with his younger brother)

If you go to WDW do the Richard Petty Driving Experience as PP mention - that would be adventurous and memorable!!!!

For DH's 40th I surprised him with a trip to Vegas & a few friends went to. We had a blast, friends showed up in the a.m. & we went to the airport & a few met us in vegas. For mine he flew my BFF in from Vegas & then we went to dinner with a few friends & then a surprise party a local bar. Plus I got Monday off to spend extra time with BFF.

I have the same issue here - turning the big 4-0 a couple of months. DH told me he wanted to take me away for the weekend (sans kids, he already lined up his mom to watch them :cool1:). Now I get to pick where to go....Dh doesn't love Disney, even though it is my b-day, I won't pick it. Maybe Charleston. Also looking for ideas!

I decided if I was going to turn 40 it would have to happen at Disneyland. And since the next day was New Year's Eve, we braved Main Street for the countdown and fireworks. We even did the Disneyland Birthday Party at the Plaza Inn where you get to decorate a little cake and take a birthday photo with Mickey & Minnie. I was one of the older "birthday kids" at the party but that didn't bother me a bit!

HI!

My DH and I both celebrated our big 40 at WDW last year....

My Bday is on 12/31 so we got up early, went to the MK and just had a fun day. I went to the barbershop and got my hair "pixied" and got lots of compliments all day! We also got a button that said it was my bday - I got sung to by the Dapper Dans, got a free soda at one stand and free churros at the other! I also had different cast members wish me a happy bday, and even had a few sing to me or get the others in line to sing to me!! It was such a special day!! We had dinner at the Crystal Palace an my table was decorated with lots of confetti and curly cues! The next day we celebrated at the restaurant in the land with all of the family and had cakes and everything! So Magical!! We had made shirts that said Celebrating Wendy's Birthday Disney Style and mine said Celebrating my Birthday Disney Style...it added to the festive feeling of the day - I LOVED IT!!!

My DH and I were alone at Disney for his bday in October. I made him a special shirt that had 40 little mickey mouse heads on it -and they were all filled with his favorite things -everything from favorite sports teams, favorite rides, favorite characters, it was so cool. And then I wore a coordinating shirt saying I was celebrating with him on his bday. Also got him a button and he got lots of bday wishes. We ate dinner at davey crockets tavern and he got a special singing to and a mickey rice crispy treat!!

When my DH turned 40 we went to Hawaii for 10 days (adult only trip)and our friends met us out there. What a great time.:thumbsup2

Planning my 40th in WDW for January. We'll include kids-I'll have a 4 month old, so no choice there :). My mom and sister and best friends will be meeting us, and my plan is to rent DVC points at AKL so we can have great accompdations and test out DVC ownership before we buy. I want a Savannah view-watching the giraffes on our balcony with a cup of coffee or glass of wine sounds like heaven.

Heh - I turn 40 on Thursday, and don't have anything huge planned. We'll probably order pizza that day, and on Sunday, a small group of my girl friends and I will be going to Chinatown for dim sum.

Otoh, our 10 year anniversary is next month, and we are hoping to do a small trip for that. We're trying to figure that one out right now...
