I just went to purchase our flights down to Orlando and the price has gone up $260 for the 4 of us. would you:
1) Pay the additional $260
2) Leave exactly one day later for a flight savings of $200 plus less costs in Disney/car rental, etc. ultimately saves us about $600 off of my original budget.

For reference I already feel like our budget is high this year BUT we will be in Vegas for a wedding and would much rather have an extra day in Disney vs finding something to fill an additional day with in Vegas.

Thoughts??

When is your trip? Weekends are when prices are typically at their highest. Prices could drop back down tomorrow or Tuesday.

Flight is on a Monday. 10/24. That would be awesome if it dropped. It's on Frontier. Do you know if their prices typically fluctuate? I've never flown with them before.

I can almost guarantee it will drop. Yes, Frontier fluctuates all the time. Over 6 months out is lots of time for it to drop. Don't ever book on the weekends (unless by chance it drops on that day) as I've only ever seen flights higher on the weekends.

Since you are renting a car anyways, look at flying in to Tampa (TPA). Sometimes it less expensive.

Since your not flying until October I would watch and see if it drops. I thought I read that the Tuesday 6 weeks before the flight is the best time to buy.

Not true about the tuesday thing anymore... sometimes, but not always... I have found early a.m. on Sundays can get interesting,as can early on Tues/Wednesdays..... keep checking you have some time OP....

Check through Kayak.com. I recently booked tix to Charlotte through Kayak that ended up costing significantly less than going directly through the airline's website.

I'd wait and see if the flight goes down. Def. don't purchase on a weekend unless you're really happy about the price. At the end of the day if it ended up being a month before the trip and the price still hadn't gone down, I'd probably just pay the difference and keep my original plans, but I'm betting that you'll find it goes down between now and then.
