What would you do? Ebay question

If she was aware prior to that it would take 4 weeks, then you need to wait the 4 weeks before you refund her the money. I wouldn't refund the money proior to that time.

ITA! :thumbsup2

Thank you for the responses. I have been as nice as possible with her, while she has not been as nice-I understand her worry.
I emailed her again reminding her of the 4 week delivery. She responded telling me that she opened a dispute with ebay.
I have a reciept for the insurance that I put on the dress. I put insurance on the amount she paid me (minus the shipping). Otherwise there is no other confirmation number (only the one on the insurance slip and they said they cannot track it from that number).

Did you take it in to your local post office? I can pull up any number that we issue, though it may not always show the delivery date if it hasn't been delivered yet. However, the number will show me ANY scans that have been made on the package up to that point.

THANK YOU for this information! I did take it into my local post office (where I sent the item from) and they told me that they were not able to track it from the insurance confirmation number. But they never said anything about being able to check scans/or if it was delivered. I really don't know where to go from here. Except wait. And the buyer seems to not want to wait the full time that was given for the delivery.
I can't express in words how upset this whole thing is making me. My stomach is just in knots. I want that dress to get to her now! :worried: I've never had this happen to me before with a buyer.

However, I didn't think about it until later yesterday that a lot of post offices aren't online yet or don't have the newer computer systems in. We are lucky and have the newer machines and online computers. So it may be a possibilty that they can't bring up our intranet yet.
If you want to send me the insurance number by pm, feel free and I'll look it up here later today and pm you back the info.
And of course she may have been notified already that the package is there at the post office and never saw the notice! We see lots of that, people can miss those notices in a heartbeat.;)
And one other note here: the website said a possible four weeks delivery?

That's odd..even mailing from here in Alabama I tell my customers even mail to the west coast only takes about 7 - 10 days max. At Chrismas maybe a little longer, but not usually.;)

They originally told me June 12th as the estimated delivery date. Then when I had they buyer check her post office and it wasn't there, I went back to my post office and they said it could take another 2 to 3 weeks (which would come out to 3 to 4 weeks from date I sent it out).
Is there any way to stop the shipment and have them send it back to me? That is what she wants me to do now. She said she does not want the dress which is fine. I always put on my ebay listings that there are no returns but because of the circumstances I will take it back.
I will PM you with the insurance confirmation. thank you!

If you have insured the dress, fill out the insurance paperwork, and let them handle it.

I have found out that the dress did arrive at her post office today. However, I know she had mentioned that she was tired of waiting for it and bought another dress on ebay and wants to return mine (even though I had a no return policy). So I guess we will see what happens.
Thank you for all the responses/suggestions and help with this. I'm sure she will leave me negative feedback even though I was nice about it and cannot speed up the postal service.

Hello all.
I have a bit of a problem and not sure what to do. I have been selling/buying things on ebay for years now. Recently I was cleaning house and sold many things with no problem at all.
I am getting married in October and ended up buying 2 dresses (long story). So I decided to sell one on ebay. It sold and I sent the dress out ASAP when I got payment from buyer (who has all positive feedback). I also put insurance on it just in case.
Well it has been about 2 weeks since the dress went out (parcel post) and the buyer was made aware of all of this when she won the item. The post office said because it was parcel post that it would take 3 to 4 weeks for her to get the dress (from Wisconsin to Virginia Beach).
It has been about 2 weeks since the dress went out, and the buyer is now complaining that she has not recieved the dress yet and wants her money back. I reminded her again that the post office said 3 to 4 weeks from shipment and that is should be on its way. I also reminded her that since there is insurance on the dress, that she will have to sign for it when it is delivered.
I do not know what to do now. I understand she wants her money back, but I'm afraid the minute I refund her money, the dress will arrive and she will take it anyway. Then I'll be out the money and the dress. Plus she'll give me negative feedback, which I've never had. I have never had this happen to me with a buyer before and I'm not sure what to do.

I have not read all the posts, so I am sorry if someone already said this. Tell her you will be happy to refund her money as soon as you receive the dress back. Whatever you do, do not refund her the money until you have the dress in hand. I have gotten burned too many times trying to "avoid the negative". It is worse now since you can't leave any feedback as the seller.
