I'll admit that I stole the idea for this thread from the DCL boards. It was very interesting to read the responses so I thought we could post our thoughts on park touring, etc.

So I'll start first...

1. We'll go directly to our resort at WDW as soon as we arrive land rather than spending the night at an airport hotel. We want to start the party ASAP! :teeth: I figure we can spend that evening getting to know the hotel, go for a swim and have a nice dinner.

2. Spend at least one non park day at the resort, maybe try some activities at the Poly marina.

3. We won't be as commando as last time and will stop and smell the roses a little more.

4. Will take some Bonine before getting on Mission Space and we won't get on it 3 times in a row.

5. We won't miss Wishes this time.

6. Will make sure to catch the Beauty and the Beast show at the Studios.

Well, that's all I can think of for now. Anyone else?

5. We won't miss Wishes this time.

You missed WISHES?! :faint: Oh my!

I never miss Wishes, but next trip, I am going to spend more time in Epcot and stop to watch all the performers in the countries. Somehow, every trip I only make it to 2 or 3 countries and only catch a couple of the performances.

Next trip I AM going to make it to a park opening...
preferably the one at the Magic Kingdom, I am NOT a morning person and even though I've tried, I've never quite made it to the MK park opening.
(Course I say this every trip and it has yet to happen... :rolleyes1 )

These are my two biggies for my next trip.

1. Spend the first night at the resort instead of rushing to the Hoop-Dee-Doo. Too hectic after catching a 6am flight!

2. Plan for--and actually take--a day of rest.

3. See "One Man's Dream" at MGM.

4. See Nemo show at Epcot.

5. Visit the ocean.

6. Eat at the Castle.

7. Go again! :)

(Umm, upon reviewing my list, I realize that "day of rest" idea may not happen. LOL!)

* I won't miss any night-time shows

* I'll take my time to watch as many parades/performers as I can

* I won't be scared of any rides

* I won't let any cranks in my family get me down

* and, I'll get up on time!

We're not park hopping this trip, we're gonna just take our time in each park and soak it all in one at a time.

Me too! We were fortunate to hear the tail end of Voices of Libery and we paused for one song by Transit Authority. We've seen the jugglers in Italy, Sergio this year and I forget the name of the character who was performing in 1999. I heard the Beatles band as we walked by, but no one wanted to stop and see them.

I'd really like to see more of the pavilions at Epcot, only be "close up" at a few countries and have yet to go on Maelstrom or El Rio del Tiempo.

We missed Mickey's Jammin Jungle Parade. I'd like to be able to see it at least one time.

I missed this too! I love to see the parades, but my husband was not in the mood to stay. That's why we're leaving him home this trip! ;)
We also missed World Showcase on our last trip! I still can't believe that one :sad2:
And last but not least, Illuminations. We'll finally see this show if it's the last thing I ever do! :teeth:

aaaaaaaaaah the thought again makes me mad !!! :

i FORGOT to do on Crush 'n' Gusher !!! aaaaahhhhhhh *freak out**totally!*

well, other than that :

1. Eat in the castle (i had to promise DGF to eat there with her next time, last trip my mother didnt want to
2. eat at california grille and watch wishes (see other thread ;) )
3. have a close look to everythink and just take time, e.g. the AK Tree of Life
4. book at least 10 days....if i will ever have enough money to do that (flight from germany is so expensive :( )

Greets, your German pal :)

My resolution is to make this the best trip possible for my friend. I've been to WDW before, and I love it, but I've been there, seen it, done it, and bought the t-shirt. Therefore, I am not going to over plan and do the whole Commando-Themeparking thing. I am going simply INSIST WE GET TO THE EACH PARK ON EACH PARK'S ALLOCATED DAY :rotfl:

Once we're in the park, my job is done. My friend can choose where we go, what we see etc. - I will be helpful with suggestions of timing but this is HER first trip, and I want her to do it HER way.

But we are going to be at the gates for opening whether she likes it or not!!

I want to go with someone who actually enjoys it and is willing to try the different foods at Epcot WS (instead of whining about wanting hot dogs) and doesn't wish that a hole would open in the earth when we go on PotC for the 500th time and I sing along and yell at the pirates and who doesn't want to just nap and watch the Weather Channel back at the hotel.

The biggest thing I want to do differently this time (we'll be there in 17 days, but who's counting ;) ) is "live in the moment"--try to soak in every bit of what's going on at that moment in time, even if it means we don't get to everything on our itinerary that day.

We will not "save" anything to do at the end of the trip. We didn't do some of the shows, rides, buy souviners, etc. We were waiting until later in the week, then we all became VERY sick.... we never made it back to the parks to do all those things, and our kids came home sick and empty-handed... :sad2:

SO - next time...
We will live in the moment, eat until we explode, ride until they close the park, and spend all of our money right away!!! :goodvibes

Well we are doing it this trip for sure and that's eat dinner before 10 at night. There were at least 4 times on our last trip that we ate dinner after 10. One time was after Midnight. It was just crazy. This time we have reservations for everynight, but the first and last (Only because we won't have the dining options).

See the night time show at MGM. We saw Wishes and Illuminations 3 times each, but skipped the show at MGM.

Now THAT is a Touring Plan!

The one important thing i will do on my next trip is..... to not tell the relatives who live in Orlando that we are coming for our disney vacation. we will make a second trip to visit them. don't want to waste my time being shuttled around town to see "the sites" as they say.

Well, that's all I can think of for now. Anyone else?

i have been to disney 10 times and this time i have things i need to do-

your #1 is great- i should really do that (maybe next trip)- however, i already made plans for my first day! but i am keeping your suggestion in the back of my mind.

:) i also have a few days on my schedule that i have NO PLANS except dinners later that evening and i want to just relax and take those days as they come! BUT even though we do have plans for most days to go to the parks- it will not be until later in the day--- after we relax by the pool except for........

:) there will be only ONE day that we set our alarm, and thats to open MK- i have never opened a park (we are not early risers) and i just want to see what its all about-- but i am NOT running to any rides! :rotfl2: DH and i dont run.....we strooooooolllllll..........

:) i subscribed to TGM this time- and the best information i got- was which days to do which parks- and this is what we are sticking to! usually we hop but we are sticking to our "park of the day"...until later that night- we ALWAYS end up at the WS!

:) we usually do wishes- but not in front of the castle- we usually go back by small world its so quiet back there- but you dont get the full effect of the castle....maybe this time we will stay on main street-

:) we never stay for parades- we have no patience, watch a little then wander off- but this time i am staying for parades- i am getting times and will plan for it.

and OMG! you HAVE to see beauty and the beast-- that is a MUST for DH and i when we do MGM-- we have seen it so many times- but we still enjoy it after all this time! :thumbsup2

Stop, relax, take a deep breath and enjoy the atmosphere of the parks and the magic of our resort. I want to try to notice more of the little details and subtleties (sp?) that make Disney, Disney.
