What would you do? BCV or VWL?

I've been trying to gather information for our May, 2007, vacation to WDW, and my brain is starting to hurt :headache:

We own at SSR, and while we vacationed there in December, 2005, and while nice, we would like to attempt to experience a different DVC our next trip home.

When we go in May, two of the reasons we are going are for the Star Wars weekends at MGM and the Flower & Garden Show at Epcot. I just learned today that you can apparently walk to both Epcot and MGM from BCV, and that they have their own Character Breakfast.

My son was extremely interested in VWL, mainly because of it's Hidden Mickey's, the geyser, and the proximity to MK.

We will be traveling with DD-63, DM-56, DH-41, ME-32, DS-7 and twin DD's-3.

So, any advice? I know that the chances of me getting into these resorts can be slim because I don't own there, but I'd still like to see what your opinions are between these two places.

Thanks for any and all posts! :thumbsup2

If you plan on going to either EPCOT or MGM, the BCV is the best choice. The pool at the BCV is second to no other resort pool. The room sizes are not that big; but its location is perfect, and you are a short walk from the Broadwalk - there is always something happening there. :) :rotfl2:

The brain shouldn't be hurting with this one, you've still got 14+ months left. BCV is the clear choice here. The reasons you are visiting would give you close access to MGM and Epcot for F&G. Aslo kind of hard to enjoy the pacific morthwest theme of VWL when it is hot out, enjoy the pool at BCV.

Your chances of getting in at BCV might be higher if you have enough points for a one bedroom. Those don't seem to be grabbed up as quickly as studios.

Good luck with getting your reservation.

Both are excellent choices it depends on your personal preferences. :thumbsup2

VWL are closer to the MK..for your 3 little one's...then you can have an adventure of boat to the CR, the monorail, via the TTC, for a nice 4 mile relaxing ride to EPCOT !!
Boating to the MK and Poly, CR & GF for character dining.

BCV has a wonderful sand pool for the kids and walking distance or boat to EPCOT, and boat to Studio's!!

BTW....If you call @ the 7th mo. window...you shouldn't have a problem making ressies!! :teeth:

Have a wonderful time planning pixiedust:

I have reservations this May for BCV. I called at the seven month window and had my choice between BCV and BWV. So as long as you call promptly you should be able to get in.

In fact, I originally booked BWV at seven months (calling in day by day), and a week later changed to BCV.

I'd vote for neither. If you want convenience, the Boardwalk is a better choice - bigger villas with better views.

Go for the BCV. They are close to MGM and Epcot, which seem to be the areas where you want to go.

Now, I had been told to book eleven months out at SSR, my "home" resort, and then transfer at the seven month window. That way, if everything else was booked, I'd still have someplace to stay.

Is that not the way it works?

Also, as far as BWV having bigger villas, it was my understanding that the rooms were all the same size, with the same number of guests allowed. We are planning on a two bedroom.

Will be staying at VWL in May for the first time. Then I can give my opion.
