What would you consider to be appropriate attire?

Thanks everyone- especially for the winery tip. I'm not sure what to expect. DBF's mom said last night that she is going to wear white pants (UHOH) and a twin set. It's his side of the family so I think that's what's making me nervous. I could be like the aforementioned girlfriend that everyone is appalled at for wearing hot pink (my favorite color.) :) :) I'm heading out for the mall in a couple hours- I'll report back with good news, hopefully! Thanks for the help!

:teeth:

Here's a thought....
see if the wedding venue has a website and if so, whether they have a page about doing weddings there. They should have some pictures so you can get an idea of the typical weddings they do there with typical guest attire.

I'm of the school that dresses for weddings unless I am specifically told that it will be casual or informal. But definitely make sure you are comfortable in whatever you decide to wear.

Happy shopping...

Oh my goodness that was stressful :) Here is what I ended up with.

A knee length skirt that is green, white, tan, and yellow striped pastels (yes, I caved and got a skirt- so much for my fat legs feeling comfortable.)

A white sleeveless shell

A green (to match the skirt color) Liz Claiborne cable knit short sleeved cardigan to wear over the shell (which by the way was $5 at Hechts !! BIG SALE- same company as Kaufmans and Lord and Taylor if you've never heard of it)

White dressy sandals

There's no going back now :) :) Thanks for the help everyone!
