I finally got my ticket to the 2010 Disney Shareholder meeting!

If you had the opportunity to ask Bob Iger a question ... what would it be?

How does he get his hair to do that?

Good one! :lmao:

If I only had one question, I'd really have to think about it...but I know I would love to ask him about the "homiginization" issue? It truly bugs me, so I might ask him they there is any hope of them going to back to having unique and quality souvenir items sold within the parks or if they are going to stick with the "selling all the same crap in every shop" plan. A very close second would be about a loyalty program for travel/park visits and park spending.

First, I'm sure the company has some valid reason for having the shareholders' meeting in Texas. Frankly, I can't think of any.:confused3

As for questions, there are two. One valid for the meeting, one not.
1) What are the company's plans for the acquisition of Marvel?
2) When was the last time you worked a front line position at a park/resort?

Do you believe that accountants and lawyers will do a better job running a company than businessmen will?

I would ask something about French people.... :rotfl:

I believe my question would be something along the lines of, “Although attendance is steady at Walt Disney World, merchandise sales are down. How much of this do you attribute to the homogenization of Disney merchandise? After all, why pick something up in Liberty Square today if I can buy the exact same item in MouseGear tomorrow?”
Or if I were in a less confrontational mood, it may be, "After Hawaii, what will be the next new DVC resort?"

This might sound petty, but I would ask him to stop cutting corners at the food service locations. The last straw for me was discovering that the wonderful burgers I'd enjoyed many times at Whitewater Snacks in the Grand Californian Hotel were replaced with the same tasteless patties/small buns served at the other Disneyland locations.

I guess it's just another example of overall cost cutting, which I understand you have to do during economic downturns. Still sucks, though.

Ask him two questions:
  1. When are they going to get good coffee in the parks?
  2. Why won't they fix their computer systems so that people can actually find useful information without having to wait for Tinkerbell to fly around the screen first?

How about when Song of the South is going to be released on DVD? Oh, wait someone asks that EVERY year and the answer is always the same: NEVER. But I totally dare you stand up and ask it again. And I double dare you to ask him boxers or briefs!

Ouch! I'll try not to take that personally. Texas born and raised girl here.

I would like to know about future expansion at DHS. There are all kinds of rumors about closing down the Backlot Tour to make way for another ride. What, if anything, do they have planned for this park in the near future? I would love to see another ride in this park.

Those were my two questions!:thumbsup2

Mike,
Did you get a chance to ask a question?

I'd ask him why he allowed the destruction of Pleasure Island.

Q..F...T Quote for Truth!!!

but to be more specific I would say:

The creation of a night time district was done because many people were venturing off property to church street station at night. So why is it that Disney has now conceded nightlife to Universal, when the whole idea to begin with was to keep people on property? With Harry Potter opening, people ARE going to Universal, locals are going to Universal, and more tourists will be going there too and staying later into the night to go to Citywalk. Their business is booming, while Pleasure Island is sitting empty. What is your response to the revenue Disney is losing and talk about what went around the table to convince you it was a good idea to concede nightlife to Universal.
