....of getting one of these "pin codes" that you guys speak of??? ;)

I am very new to all of this and to Disney. I have booked for the beginning of May and did take advantage of a slight discount in our room when that offer popped up last week.

I'm assuming based on what I've read that they let you apply these "pins" whenever you want to existing reservations?

THANKS for all your help!!! :lovestruc

It seems to be a mystery to most I think. I got a pin code the last wave that went out (in the fall, I think). I can't speak for others, but I have gotten the planning dvd the last 2 years and belong to a few websites that email me about WDW, but as you see in my signature, have not been since 2008! So honestly, who knows? :confused3

O.k. I just the planning DVD so maybe that will help me out! Thanks!

Wish I knew! In over ten years and over 25 trips I have yet to ever get a PIN code. I did get the "Bouceback" offer in my room once. Just once, never again. I get the planning DVD every other year, have a few accounts with the Disney site, answer all of their surveys in the parks, online and on the phone yet I still stand/sit here Pin-less. :sad2:

But it does happen for people... good luck.:thumbsup2

It really is a mystery. Somehow, I keep getting PINs, even though I only go once a year, max. Unfortunately, whenever I get them, they never work online, so I have to call about them.

Even if you don't get a PIN emailed to you, ask if there are any offers linked to your name. Sometimes, people get them, but Disney has the wrong email address or something, so they never realize they have one.

Pins for the WIN!

I as well have had to call mine in.

Luv Ya Disney!

I got a pin code in the mail yesterday, and made my reservation this morning. :cool1: We were last there in '08, but in the last couple of weeks, I've spent a lot of time playing around on the website planning and saving trips. I also requested the DVD. I'm not sure what triggered them to send us the code, but it was exactly what I was waiting for. :woohoo:

I signed up for the DVD with my home address and registered on disney.com with three different email addresses. Got a 40% off pin with the second email address and was able to book my reservation online. Did all of this in the last 3 weeks, so hopefully it will work for you!!

Good Luck!

I'm going to try that tonight!!! THANKS!!!

I accidentally entered a few email addresses and have been reapplying for the DVD planners for months, I've ended up with Pins every time the last two email pushes.

I also got something in the mail the other day, but it seemed to be just an advert, no pins anywhere in sight.

We go every May to Disney. We have never had a pin code.

Last year we were lucky enouph to get the 40% off room only and stayed at the Poly.
This year we book and we really want to go to the Poly again.....sad only 25% off this year.

So last week i call Disney and ask if i have pin....they say no, sorry.
We have some small chat about the weather ect...very nice girl.

Today, my 8 year old gets the mail and says "something from Disney Mom"

It was a pin!!!! 40% off room only!!:yay:

So, all i'm saying is CALL! You just never know!

Wishing you all the best of luck in getting a pin!

I already have free dining for my late Aug trip. I know I can't use both discounts. The 40 % off deluxe would save me more$$. I read some other posts abour registering multiple e-mails. I want to do this to increase my chances. How do you register? I have already ordered and recieved the DVD under my e-mail. Thanks

How long do the PINs last for? I just signed up again for the dvd a day or two ago, but probably won't book until May.

I have been trying to get a pin for three years with no luck at all. I have even booked two trips during that time and not even a bouncback offer. Sometimes I wonder if they don't like offering discounts to the people that can only afford value resorts.

We received a pin on our 2008 trip that was great because we had 3 rooms. On our 2010 trip we also had 3 rooms and no pin but got free dinning we were staying at ASMo so it worked out better with the dinning. We are staying at the Cr this time so I would love a pin. My cousin just called and the gave her a general public discount of 30 % off ?

Pins will have book by dates. The longer you wait, the less likely availability in the resort of your choice. In order to take advantage of the pin, it has to have availability in the resort you are looking at and it has to be for the time period you are looking at.

They don't just send you a pin for 40% to use whenever you want.

I booked my trip the week after Thanksgiving the week I returned and so far I have only received one pin in snail mail and it was for the month of May, when I am not even going.

I'm begining to think pins go to people who book vacations and then cancel them before they actually take them. My sister and mother both did that over the course of a few months and both of them received pins within 6 months. I didn't cancel our trip and nada in my inbox!
