What would be the best thing you have experienced at WDW?

E-night at Magic Kingdom. DS and I rode everything that was open several times and even had time to play with Chip and Dale. It was disney magic.

DH and I settled in to watch the Spectromagic parade behind a family of 2 grandparents and their 6 or 7 year old grandson. It was the first time we'd ever stopped to watch the parade and I couldn't beleive how neat the floats were. The little boy though was almost beside himself over the floats! He had a little disposable camera and was taking pictures of almost every one. Finally, his grandma told him that he was going to use up his whole camera and to take it easy. He stopped for a little while but then finally turned around to her and said in the sweetest southern accent "but ma-ma it's just too beautiful!!" That made my whole night, it was so nice after a long day of seeing people yell at each other and the drama that went on in trying to find a seat for the parade to see him just full to the brim with the Magic.

Entering Epcot though the International Gateway for the first time with our 7 month old DD. As we started up the hill toward the bridge we met Aurora standing all alone with her handler. She saw at us and came over and looked inside the stroller at Katy. Completely in character she spoke to Katy and said "Welcome, Princess Catherine. I believe we have met before, Once Upon A Dream. " I almost teared up.

That will the one thing I will always remember about that trip!

1. Brainstem freeze - going with my family to AK and getting one of those frozen lemonade and drinking it too fast and getting one of those brain freezes. I held my head and my family thought I was having a heart attack or something and when I yelled out "Brainstem freeze" they nearly doubled over in laughter. This was caught on vid tape and has been recreated in many other memorable trips.

2. During my first solo trip - early entry to MK and walking down mainstreet towards Cindy's castle and seeing clearly the Walt and Mickey sculpture in front of an early morning fog covering the castle and making just a cool picture of the castle "materializing" in back of Walt & Mickey

3. Having a wonderful meal at Kona Cafe and then going out to the swing to dip my toes in the warm, white sand while waiting for the fireworks at MK. To make it even more perfect that night the full moon rose over the palm trees while I waited. Just magical! Ely

Wow, there's so many. :teeth: Probably the most memorable are:

5 - My children's first ride on Space Mountain
4 - My wife (who is not a thrill ride fan) riding Dinosaur over and over again.
3 - Staying at a Disney resort for the first time (All Star Sports)
2 - Walking into the MK for the very first time
1 - Walking through the Osbourne Family Festival of Lights with my family after the park is officially closed and virtually having the park to ourselves

My husband turning to me during Spectromagic last year with DD3 on his shoulders and DS9 at the curb and whispering that he had been waiting fourteen years for this. I had moved to Florida when we were dating (1988) (he had been non-commital) It was during one of his visits that we went to Disney and saw the electrical parade. He says that it was where he decided that someday he wanted to show this magic to his children and he knew I was the one to complete the picture. :lovestruc

This is easy. My DD12 and I spent 7 days together last fall @ DW. We visited every park + Disney Quest- saw nearly every show and rode nearly every attraction.

But the best- the highight- was watching her surf @ TL @ 6:30am. The joy it brought me to see her "catch a wave" is something I'll treasure forever.

The whole of my Honeymoon trip in August 1999! I had been lucky enough to go to WDW many times with family as a child - but DH had never been.
Just seeing his reaction to everything & knowing we were going to have a lifetime of fantastic Disney trips to look forward to together!
Claire:wave:

1.Meeting my fave band KISS on Alien Encounter in 96!!True!
2.My daughters excitement travelling over the lagoon watching the castle get bigger
3.Seeing the snow on Main Street at MVMCP
4.Fantasia show
and I must mention the funniest thing The guy who got soaked on RiverRapids in AK I thought he was gonna punch me I was laughing that much!

This almost put tears in my eyes! How beautiful! I just love hearing stories like this! :)

Trip one with Gabby.....
Our first trip to WDW together in general. It was pure magic. I can't tell you how much fun we had that long weekend.

Trip two with Gabby.....
For 30 years, I had carried around a 4 year olds scar. I didn't get to meet Mickey Mouse when I went to MK. I wanted to do that one thing and I wasn't able to do it. Well back in September of 2002, I had planned to do the ice cream social at Epcot on our first day in the parks to remedy the situation, but I actually got a bit of a surprise on our first day at WDW, while shopping at DTD with our friends. Gabby and I managed to slip away from our friends for a couple of minutes and I really had considered going to Studio M to have our picture made with Mickey Mouse sometime later in the week, but I was unsure how much that might cost, so I wanted to check without our friend's kids around. I grabbed Gabby and said, let's go down this way and pulled her to the left. Just as we both turned left to walk down toward Studio M, I saw Mickey Mouse talking to a family that had a little girl in a wheelchair. When Mickey was done with the child, he waved to a kid that was on his left and was about to scoot back into his photo room away from the crowd. I said "Hey Mickey, can I have a hug?" and he turned around. Gabby said "Don't cry." but it was too late. I was totally immersed in a huge cloud of pixie dust. I was hugging Mickey Mouse! I was crying like a baby. I explained to the lady there that I felt like a fool, but I had wanted to meet Mickey for 30 years and it was just awesome and overwhelming. They asked me to step inside with Mickey and they were going to take my picture with him since we didn't have a camera with us. At that point, I didn't care if the picture was going to cost $100, I was buying it. They took our picture and after goofing with Mickey and getting a few Mickey kisses and hugs, I left the room. They gave me the full package of pictures at no charge. I was shocked. I thanked them as much as I could. I offered to pay for the pictures, but they said that they were glad to give them to me and there everyone deserves to have a picture of their first time meeting Mickey. I walked away stunned and very happy.

Trip three with Gabby....
One of my fondest memories came at MGM watching the Indiana Jones Stunt show. There was a family that sat on the row ahead of us. In the family, there was this absolutely adorable auburn haired little girl that was about 2 years old. She was totally focused on my pin lanyard the entire show. She kept fussing and trying to reach back to me to see the pins. Her mother tried to keep her under control, but finally, I said, "Oh, just come here." And she reached out to me and I pulled her onto my lap. She loved to look at the pins and was totally quiet in my lap. I think her mom was a bit concerned about this complete stranger that was holding her child, but at least they were able to watch the show in peace. When the show was over, I gave her mom the Mickey pin from my lanyard for her to keep to remember the moment. I also gave her older sister a piglet pin from my lanyard to keep also. Since we don't have kids, it sometimes is really neat to be able to borrow someone else's. lol Maggie

I have several most magical moments. My entire honeymoon in 1997, taking hubby for 1st time to WDW and being treated like royalty at GF (seeing castle from our balcony).

That rush you get walking down Main St and seeing the castle.

Taking our kids and enjoying it though their eyes.

Haircut at Harmony barber shop with hidden Mickey (my son didn't want to shower --ever--he said!)

This past June we had a truly magical experience though. I booked the Family Magic Tour, which was definitely magical. My 5 1/2 yo kind of hung out to the back as all of the kids were older and could help out reading the clues. The tour guides really helped him fit in and he loved meeting Peter and Wendy after. This tour was just so wonderful. After, we went to Columbia Harbour House for lunch. I was waiting in line and DH came back from downstairs with only 1 son. I asked where DS 5 was and he said "upstairs with Shannon (our tour guide)". She spent about 1/2 hour of her own lunch time listening to our son's ideas for his own theme park and asking him lots of questions--he can be very talkative and extremely imaginative. She told us to stop by Town Hall on our way out, that something would be waiting for us. She left us a very nice note with lots of goodies--extra Peter Pan stickers, extra Mickey dust--she knew how sad he was to wash out his from the haircut earlier, paper to make some tickets for his new theme park (she remembered all the details he had given her, including cost!), and two family front of the line passes! DS 5 was thrilled. The next day, we decided to use a pass at Buzz and when we handed the ticket to the cm, ds got very upset. When we asked what was wrong he said "I thought these were tickets to go see Shannon again". He would have rather seen her than ride his favorite ride! She gave us her email and address to keep in touch and now she sends the most wonderful notes to him and he sends pictures and notes in return. We can't wait to see her again when we return in Dec. Shannon is true Disney Magic!

In February we took my 4 dd on their first trip to WDW. What a memory for all of us!!! Probably the highlights were:

1) Breakfast at the castle with all the princesses. My girls were in awe! (I admit it. I was too.)

2) My then 3 year old screaming with joy from the top of her lungs as she rode BTMRR. We weren't sure she would like it, and she ended up riding it 4 times!

It's amazing how we can relive our childhoods at WDW through our kids!:)

For our 1st trip as a family, I knew we should make a bolt for Fantasyland as our two girls were 5 and 6. We decided to make Pooh our 1st ride of the day since both adore the Hundred Acre Wood gang. When we got there we saw the characters and my girls were exceited, then a CM came up to us and said that Tigger would like to ride with you. He sat in the front with the girls and my DH and I sat behind them. I just cried tears of joy. I couldn't believe for their very first ride they got to ride with a character! Later in the week, we when had a character dinner at 1900 Park Faire the girls told Tigger how much they loved riding with him on his ride and he hammed it up as only a Tigger could. Magical.

DH and I stayed at (then) Dixie Landings in November. The second morning we were walking to breakfast and stopped short... all of the flowers from the previous day had been replaced with Christmas poinsettias, and the Christmas tree was up in the Lobby. Overnight!
DH got the funniest look of wonder on his face: "It's magic"!

Second best: Last year when we checked in to AKL... we had been upgraded (free!) to savannah view.
We had a corner King room, with double-windows... walked out on our balcony and Mr. and Mrs Anokole (sp?) Cattle had their little baby asleep right under our balcony! They stayed there our entire trip. We could hear them walking around at night, as we kept our balcony door open. Awesome!

The best thing I remember about Disney World is my first trip with my Mom. It was a bus trip from upstate NY where we live to FL. Many things on that trip were funny, but one of the best things that happened was at MK.
My Mom was standing on one side of a flowered garden and one of the bears from the Country Bear Jamboree (big tall guy, not sure of his name) was on the other side. My Mom waved at him and he waved back then she walked away. Seconds later, he was standing behind her and went to hand her a flower. She looked up and saw his big nose and let out a Blood Curdling scream! I just kept on walking and pretended I didn't know her. Of course then she broke down laughing when she realized what had happened....the poor bear headed back for the woods!
That over 25 years ago.....hard to believe it was that long! It's nice to have fun memories to laugh about. Thanks for this post::MinnieMo

What an Awesome Post! I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes remembering similar experiences - the first time my whole family walked into MK the first time and seeing main street and the castle. I had done all of the planning for the family of 9 for months. When I saw that sight and began to cry, I had 8 family members laughing at me.

This past trip had so many magical experiences. One was an ongoing thing between me and my DS (6). He is not one to show a lot of affection, but one of the very first days, he found a flower that had fallen off a plant on to the ground. He picked it up and give it to me. Of course, this really touched me, and when he saw that, he began picking up every flower on the ground that he saw for the entire trip. It was such a magical thing to have my son show this much affection to me.
Second, on the last night we stayed to watch wishes. About 3/4 of the way through, our DS decided he was ready to go. We decided to start heading toward the bus. We got to the gate, when he said wait just a minute. He turned around and watched the fireworks for just a minute. When I looked down at him, he was crying. I knelt down to him and asked him if he was ok, and he said he was just said to be leaving. So I said to him, "remember how magical this is right now? Put it in your memory and never forget it. Whenever you and I want to remember the magic we can just say to each other - remember the magic - and it will be like we are here all over again." That was really a magical moment when I realized that all of the effort, time and money are so worth every second of magic that you experience.
