What would be left??? To talk about here

There are numerous MJ threads. Good, I'm glad. MJ was a newsworthy celebrity that died suddenly. It is only natural that people would want to talk about him and his life. Good or bad. No matter what your opinion is of him, you have a right to talk about it.

I have read on more than a few threads, that MJ topics may be banned from here, because there are so many, and not everyone agrees with each other. Some people have said they hope that happens. WHY?

We are already banned from talking about religion and politics. We can't talk about other Disney message boards. I think we have had enough censorship on this "community" board, don't you think?

If the powers that be ban every debatable topic on this board, what will be left to discuss? They may as well just shut down the "community" board, and let everyone go to the respective board to discuss Disney. Or we can change this board name to the "weather" board, because soon, that will be the only thing we'll be allowed to discuss.

I wish that people would be able to respect other's opinions and be able to discuss things without getting personal, judgemental and insulting. Maybe that way the more sensitive subjects wouldn't have to be banned.

I wish (like sooooo many others) that they would bring back the debate boards. It kept all the "heated topics" in one location, and made the other boards so much nicer. I also wish I had a million dollars, so we'll see which happens first.






Now, how am I going to spend that million dollars?

I think that those people who claim that we are going to be banned from talking about MJ are wrong. While they may wish that it gets banned so they don't have to see teh threads, I doubt that it will happen. After all, within the next week these threads are going to go away on their own.

OP, I agree with you 1000%.

I truly miss those threads as many do.

I just don't understand now that someone emails a Mod and boom the thread is gone. Just because they don't want to talk about it. That isn't fair. Don't open the thread, its not that difficult OR put in your 2 cents politely but still state your opinion and let it go from there.

I think people are just being mean so that they do get shut down as per the MJ threads.

That's all it is - posters wishing. There's no indication the DIS is going to ban the topic or close any of the threads (unless someone somehow inserts a banned topic not mentioning any particular thread).

As with most topics - eventually the threads will taper off and get pushed onto older pages.

The Clique threads would be. I don't mind them but no matter how friendly they say they are unless you have been there from the start it is hard to catch up and catch on. Sure they say hi to you your first post so they are friendly that way then go back talking to the people they have known from when the thread originated ih whatever form eons ago. Hot a complaint nor do I want them banned but those would be left.
