definately pasta. followed by red meat. i tend to think of "pasta sauce" as bolognese sauce, which is made with meat.

Dairy, definately! I love milk...how would I have cereal, coffe, etc without it?

Other...

Coffee followed by soda. Those are 2 things I need to give up. As I sit here typing sipping on my coffee.:rolleyes1

That's okay, I'm not giving up reading other people's diaries, so I didn't pick it.

As for PASTA, people don't have to give up pasta anymore, especially if it's because of the high carbs. Unless you are allergic to chick peas, try Barilla Plus Pasta. It is the ONLY pasta I eat now as it is made specially to be high protein and low in carbs. Barilla Plus is made with chick peas & other high protein, high fiber & Omega 3 ingredients. Yet it tastes like regular pasta. :cheer2: It is a better choice for anyone who would still like to eat pasta, but not all the carbs. And it does NOT taste like boiled cardboard the way "whole wheat" pastas do. :p You do have to cook it a bit longer than regular pasta.

Yea, it sounds like the same line my parents gave me when they told me to substitute spaghetti squash for regular spaghetti. It tastes the same, they said. You won't even notice, they said.

Wrong, wrong, wrong! I noticed. I noticed that it was stringy, squash tasting and utterly unfit to be coupled with spaghetti sauce. Never trust a parent is my long time motto.

other.....chocolate!! So addicted.

We are both diabetic and dark chocolate is my friend ;)
We use Dream Fields pasta.....5 net carbs
Mostly chicken
dairy......only really like cheese hot and melty in/on other things
milk.....morning cereal only

Imzadi, thanks for posting about that! I've been trying the different types of pastas, but I don't think I've run across that one yet.

My number 1 would have to be dairy. I have to have a glass of milk every day (crave it when I go too long without!). I love ice cream, yogurt, cheeses, eggs... But a close second is red meat.

For me, it would be red meat... no question. I am a meat eater, no question.

Dairy would be dead last. I don't drink milk, hate yogurt, could live without cheese. I would miss ice cream.

For me it would be dairy (I would miss cheese!) with pasta right behind it.

Funny thing though, I'm giving up a lot this morning as I am starting a new 2-week diet giving up everything that is not completely natural. I will only be eating fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains (but no wheat) and fresh chicken/fish. I have IBS-D and I'm want to see if this will help my symptoms.

:rotfl:

But really, the Barilla Plus is really just like the regular stuff. :thumbsup2

As for the question in the OP, I'd say it would be hardest for me to give up dairy. I've already given up all meat, and pasta isn't in that many foods. I'd miss it, though. :sad1:
