What Will You Spend Your Tax Return On This Year

I am really anxious to file. Our business failed this year and we will have some major write-off's (financially dh has a better job now and it seems like it was for the best). Knowing how we did last year when we started heading south- I'm pretty sure we're going to be due a few thousand back this year. I've set aside this weekend to get all my paperwork in order. Now I just need to wait for those W-2's, and something from my IRA I cashed in.

Anyhow- we need to finish the remodel on our house we started at the end of summer. That is going to mean new carpeting throughout the whole house and a few new doors and drywall for 1 room left still. I'm hoping to have enough left for a new living room set- but that might be pushing it.

Either put it towards the down payment on our new place (hopefully we find and afford a place to purchase) or towards the cost of cross country movers.

I'm scared, I was looking at my husband last paycheck and it said, he only paid in $6,000 to Federal, I paid in about $2,000, I have a feeling I will be paying uncle Sam this year.

we need new family room furnature but I have a feeling it will go to paying off the remainder of DH's student loan, which after paying for 10 years I'll be happy to be free of.

Last year we used the refund to pay off my car. We owned 2 homes so we got way more back than we will this year.

Never get any back, always pay.

Kilee, remember, on that cashed in IRA, the mandatory witholding was 20%, not your actual tax due, plus the 10% early, pre 59 1/2 penalty, unless you requested more. Plus no state or local withheld. Just an fyi.

(not to be taken as tax advice)

Paying off some bills, and taking SO to the Outer Banks, NC. His father passed away last week, and that is mine and our DD's gift to him as a resting period and a time to celebrate his father's life.

No income, No refund. I payed a ton last year when I received money from the sale of stock. I'm living on the proceeds now, but really haven't made anything.

If we get any back it will be very little and will go to credit card bills as usual.

I resolved to buy more wine this year. As if on cue, my wine consultant called today! :goodvibes She was about six weeks earlier than the refund, lol.

Other than that, our Disneyland trip and maybe a fence. The rest will pay off a loan early and a couple of bills.

I'm probably going to have to pay this year. I had a T-bill mature for a nice chunk of change...too bad it all went to my CC debt (which is now almost completely paid off).

I'll spend it to pay more taxes. Our tax bill is due in April, and we didn't impound. :(

Fountains and waterfalls, the roof of our patio cover....basically the last of the landscaping costs for our new house :flower:
