For me, its sour cream. The other versions are just not as good. Its worth a few extra calories or fat grams.

creamers.... the taste is hugely different, and yet, only about 10-15 calories difference.

I bought light cream cheese and my DH refused to eat it, said it tasted "different".

I love fat free sour cream, and fat free mayo/miracle whip, but the fat free cream cheese just doesn't have the right texture. I buy Neufchatel cheese instead; it's 1/3 less fat than cream cheese and tastes/feels the same to my mouth.

Thousand Island dressing--it tastes as though they put cinnamon in when they take out the fat. YEECH!!

I won't buy the fat-free version of mayonnaise. I can tolerate the low-fat version...barely. I don't use mayo much any more anyway so the few extra calories won't hurt.

I don't buy anything fat free - just gross but will buy lite or reduced fat.

I've been down that road and came to the conclusion that having regular salad dressing, for example, isn't going to kill me. It's not like I guzzle the whole bottle at one sitting. Same with all the other "lite" stuff. To me, it all tastes terrible. If I want some cream cheese now and then, I want the real thing! Same with butter. I threw all the fat free stuff in the garbage. All they do anyway is add more corn syrup or chemicals to take the place of the fat. I use the real deal now (in moderation) and am much happier.

Light margarine. Not so bad on cold things such as sandwiches but on toast it's awful. Makes the toast soggy. It's bad on anything else it melts on too. :crazy2:

Myst

I don't buy fat free anything and very rarely "lite" anything. I agree with eclectics that they seem to subsitute more chemicals or additives to try to make it taste like the full fat stuff. And who knows what effect these additives may have down the road.

I have tasted the Entenmann's fat free cakes and they were awful! They were so sweet, I couldn't eat it. Now that can't be good for ya!

I won't buy anything lite or fat free...I do the low carb...and the lower the fat the higher the carbs

Full fat all the way.

My overweight-ness (see my sig) is because I eat far too much of everything/anything I eat, not because I eat full fat dairy-type products.

I don't get anything fat-free or lite. I've tried some stuff and I don't like the taste. I think as long as you eat balanced foods in moderation then you should be able to enjoy the full flavors.

I don't buy fat free anything..but I do use Promise Light(excpet on toast liek another poster said, it's terrible), though I bake with regular butter.
I use Hellmans Light mayo, light sour cream, light cream cheese, light cheese light wheat bread..
I started when I had to do WW years ago, and just kept up with it even after I lost all the baby weight.
One thing that I will only buy the regular version of is peanut butter. I can't even spread the other versions.

Cheese. I like cheese.

Ugh fat free cheese is like RUBBER. Awful stuff. Light cream cheese is pretty bad too.

I also HATE light OJ. Minute Maid Light is the worst. Awful stuff. It's got a laundry list of ingredients and is like 45% juice.

Nonfat milk and yogurt tends to be the only thing I still buy that is non or reduced fat. I've tried many and liked none. I'd rather eat less.
