Thanks, we will be arriving the Sunday, then the next day is Labor Day and we'll be there the rest of the week until Saturday. From what you remember, we should be good after the Monday, we'll just hang around the countries in Epcot the Sunday and the Monday, Animal Kingdom and downtown Disney and leave the other big parks for the rest of the week!!!
We actually had a cast member tell us that the most he ever sees Disney "deserted" is the days following Labor Day. Of course Labor Day weekend itself will probably be crowded, but afterwards you should be in the clear!
I was reading your pretrip/trip report and read that the characters come out and ride the rides with you. We were there last June (2008) and was there at rope drop one day and one day before the park even opened and never saw characters riding rides. Was this on regular days or EMH mornings? Would love to see this on this September trip!!!
TIA
It was in 2006, but we were there for Labor Day week. Labor Day (Monday) was busy, but not too bad. The rest of the week was very low crowds. I have been to Disney 20-30 times and the only time I have ever seen it so "uncrowded" was the Dec after 9/11. It was great! I think the only reason it would be more crowded this year is because so many people know about free dining now.
