what will SSR cost per point?

not sure if it's too soon to make any guesses on SSR pricing, but just thought i'd throw the question out there to see what people think.

i browsed back to read an old thread predicting BCV prices, and most of the experts on this board were pretty accurate w/ their predictions!

so... what're the expert predictions on SSR price?

Presales at $87-89. Actually on line at $92 or so, IMHO.

I'm far from an expert, but here is my opinion. I believe that they knew that BCV was going to be a strong seller, and yet they still offered a big incentive on the pre-opening price. I remember it was $70 per point. I think SSR will have a similar "bargain" opening price. I think it may be $5 off the current purchase price with a minimum of 100 points, then they will announce a price increase for when it "officially" opens which will be $5 above the current price.

I can't remember what the price was at the time BCV sales opened, but did they indeed lower the price for BCV pre-sales?? I cannot believe DVC would lower the price from the current level for SSR pre-sales. Wouldn't that just get all of us who recently bought in at $80 and $84 riled up?

I am more inclined to go with the theory that they will leave the price @ $84, but require that you buy in for less points than BCV required. More like 100-125. The price will definitely go up once SSR comes online. Probably a $5 increase.

My opinion is probably not worth much, but since I have a crystal ball warming up, here is what I think. If the termination date is 2042, I say the points at Saratoga Springs will be in the range of $84-$89. If the termination date is after 2050, then it's a whole new ballgame and I would be willing to bet the cost jumps over the $90 mark. <- Note the jumping price!

My crystal ball also says Beach Club sales will finish up by early to mid-summer (a new record) and by July/August you'll be able to buy into SSR. Again, only my opinion...not based on fact....only little short circuits erupting between my ears.

Since SSR may have the potential to be as large (or almost) as OKW, I would think there may be no price increase as there will be a lot of inventory to sell. VWL and BCV sold out, but are small incomparision to the other WDW DVCs. $85.00.

I think BCV started selling at $75/pt, but they had some sort of deal where you got five nights in a deluxe hotel (something like that). I believe you could choose $5 MB instead of the accommodations.

Perhaps an early BCV owner can jump in and clarify???

P.S.- I don't think 18 months is the 'sell out record'. DVD stopped selling VWL on 2/2/02 (I think about 14 months). At the time DVD said that there was only a couple percent left, saved for owners to add-on. Several months later, DVD opened these left over points for general sale. I doubt it would have taken 4 months to sell these stragling points if it were the only resort for sale...
