What will my dining plan cover?

I'm staying at Disney from 05/04-05/08. We opted for the recommended "Disney Dining plan".

We will be arriving at our hotel probably around midnight on 05/04. Our itinerary has us as "4-night" guests. How many meals do we get? Will that be 4 table and 4 quick service meals each? Do they count 05/04 as one night even though we'll be arriving at our hotel past midnight?

Thanks!

If you are staying for 4 nights then you get 4 table service meals, 4 quick service meals and 4 snacks per person on the plan. I highly recommend that you start making your reservations for the table service meals since they start booking those 180 days out from start of reservations.

Have fun!

You are staying 4 nights on the regular dining plan. That means you get 4 TS credits, 4 CS credits and 4 snack credits per person. You get them all at once when you check in, and you have until midnight AFTER you have checked out to use them. It doesn't matter what time you check in or check out, this is what you will get.

Also assuming it is the regular dining plan here is what it will not cover (in general, there may be exceptions in certain instances to some of this):

Appetizers
Tips
Alcoholic beverages
Beverages in souvenir cups or with glow novelties
Separate side dishes (sides that accompany entrees are included, but if you order one separately it is not included)
You do not get a dessert at breakfast, nor do you get anything to substitute for it

The # of meals covered is based on how many nights you are booked for. so if you have a 4 night package, you will have 4 days on ddp. (so 4 qs, 4 ts, 4 snacks per person).

on a side note, i would verify your checkin time for your resort. if you are booked with an arrival day of say, saturday, even if you arrive at midnight on friday ni:goodvibesght, the checkin for the hotel may not be until saturday at 3 pm. just a suggestion to cover all your bases.

Whoa whoa, I didn't think of this. They won't let me check in if I arrive at midnight? Oh no!

My flight is scheduled to land around 11:00 pm but I'm factoring in possible delays and the 45min drive to Disney from the airport. I thought it didn't matter when you checked in as long as it wasn't before 3pm? Either way, I can't imagine that they would just tell us to come back later at midnight! I don't believe for one second that they would turn us away when we paid for that night. Now I'm worried though.

I don't think they need to worry about this. They wouldn't be marked as a no show until 6 or 7 am, and I've checked in on a number of occasions between midnight and 3 am and have never been told I would have to wait until the following 3 pm for a room.

It's bad enough that we are paying for friday night even though we'll only be there long enough to sleep. I will be ten shades of LIVID if they won't let us check in at midnight. What does it matter to them? We paid for that time and nobody else should be in the room that we were scheduled to be in.

Yikes. Thanks for the information but I hope it won't be a problem for us! I looked it up before booking and many sites said that the check-in booth was open 24 hours. Why would that be if we weren't allowed to check in at various times?

Anyone know how this works? Our vacation dates are 05/04 - 05/08. Doesn't that mean we can arrive whenever we want on 05/04 ? As long as it's after 3pm? It shouldn't matter if we arrive on saturday instead of friday because we already paid for that night. Right? Just looking for reassurance!

If you are booked to arrive on Friday 5/4 your room should be ready for you at 3 PM. You can check in any time after that, including after midnight. No Problem!!! I think the computers switch to the new date between 6 AM and 7 AM. So if you did not check in until after 7 AM Saturday 5/5, then you would be considered a no show. The Front Desks are staffed 24/7. You will NOT have a problem

A bit off topic, if you are planning to eat at popular in park and nearby resort restaurants, you need to be making ADR's NOW. The window to make ADR"s opens at 180 days in advance, and many restaurants book to capacity well in advance. You could have the Dining Plan and not be able to make a reservation where you want to eat.

DO NOT worry about the room. I have done it before. when Pleasure Island used to be open I would go there after arrival and then not check in after it closed sometimes. You will get a room.

You could have the Dining Plan and not be able to make a reservation where you want to eat.

Without reservations, you could end up with nowhere to spend your TS credits unless you leave the park you're in and go somewhere else - which could take a lot of time if you don't have a vehicle at your disposal. You could use the TS for a CS meal, but after paying for the TS meals do you really want to do that?

Especially MK - that park has only five TS restaurants and they were all booked up last weekend.

Thank you my dear!

I also took your advice about making reservations. Surprisingly, I had no problem getting the exact times I wanted. I'm still glad you reminded me though because I would have waited until the last minute :)
