What Will Be Served At Star Wars Breakfast?

Wait. They're serving FOOD?!!!! BONUS!! :rotfl:

My DH wants to bring DS6 to see Darth Vadar. This is the easiest, most relaxing way to do it. I see it as a $130 FP+ with bonus muffins!

I agree with you 100%. I have 4 boys and a cranky DH. Give them food and let the characters come to them. It will be worth the price for my sanity!

So, I made a reservation for this meal, right after I heard about it on this weeks podcast. Afterwards, I realized it was 2 credits. Good thing I didn't cancel any other reservations!

I'm not sure if I want to spend 2 credits on this meal and I'm pretty sure I don't want to spend $160+ (before tip) for a breakfast for four. I love SW, but it seems really pricey. We aren't huge into character dining and/or meet and greets. We will do them, but we don't go out of our way for those experiences.

We could give up our Hoop Dee Doo ressie. We could... but probably won't since we love the Hoop! That's a great experience, with a nice meal and has created many happy memories.

Don't get me wrong. I REALLY want to go. But, without knowing what to expect for the meal, paying such a premium (we still never ate at the California Grill and if we are spending this much, maybe we should explore that option for an adults only meal) and having to figure out how we will pay for this (ditch 2 of our current dining ressies and go with counter service for two dinners or just pay out of pocket, which means expanding the existing OOP budget, either way it just means I need to bring more money!). It's become a minor first-world dilemma. lol

It's a brilliant idea and I'd like to support it and see it happen all the time. But this is still a breakfast, typically the cheapest meal of the day. I'm wrestling with the concept that this is now becoming the premium meal for our 8 day trip.

Is anybody else in angst over this? What are you doing? Darn the torpedoes, full steam ahead? Or just passing and going with more cost effective options?

As 3LittleCritters said above, I see it as the price on my sanity. DH doesn't deal with the heat or lines well, DS wants to see all the characters, and our 4 month old needs to be comfortable. Add in the possibility of a cocktail while we get all these characters done (in A/C) and I will happily pay OOP.

I agree 100% about the 2 credits. If using the dining plan, we will pay out of pocket for the breakfast and not use the dining plan credits. The value per credit is far less than using the 2 credits at 2 other restaurants.

The Mickey Jedi Dinner at Hollywood Vine is much more expensive. We will use 2 dining plan credits for that.

A cocktail, for breakfast??? lol! Our ressie is at 10:30, so our sanity levels will be normal. It's morning and we are on vacation.

The dinner SW package is off the table. It's not 'real' SW characters.

If it's a good meal, close to par with other 2 credit signature dining exp's, I probably won't feel so bad about spending the money. But, this is the Sci-fi after all. While the ambiance is fantastic, you don't go there for the food. We usually go because it's the cheap, OOP alternative for dinner. I think our last meal there was about $70-80 for 4.

I hate walking by the Brown Derby at 2 o'clock and saying to myself, wow, we could have dinner there.

Agreed. We rarely do a breakfast. I love breakfast! But, Chef Mickeys is one credit and a fantastic experience. We did the Ohana (sp?) last trip and have it booked for the next day (will cancel if we stick with SW. We only do 1 breakfast per trip, since that is not enough to fulfill our food quota for a day). That was fun and worth a credit for the exp and meal.

We usually hit a grocery store for bagels and snacks in the room. Then do early lunch, 11am counter service and save our heavy meal for dinner. Breakfast food is like Chinese. Yummy but leaves you hungry in an hour.

My DH is an early riser and has us all up by 5 so we can "take full advantage of the morning". By the time 10 rolls around, I may be in need of a Bloody Mary! But in all honesty, I was thinking more along the lines of a glass of wine with dinner at H&V!

As soon as I heard they were offering these during the week, I knew I had to book both the breakfast and the dinner. Quite honestly, I didn't pay any attention to the prices. We are doing a fairly short trip, and we won't be at DHS over a weekend, so this is our chance to see the Star Wars characters.

Both my kids are suddenly into meeting various characters, so we're doing both character meals and meet and greets. DD3 is completely princess obsessed, and I'd already booked both CRT and Akershus for us (and the A & E meet and greet FP). After 7 years of coming with us to parks and having little interest in the characters, DS9 surprised us last month by wanting character meals at both DL and Aulani. I guess he's watching his sister's obsession with characters and wanting to join in? Seriously, this kid has refused to get within a couple of feet of the characters for years and years, and suddenly, he's all about meeting Mickey and hanging out with Goofy.

For the first time ever for one of our Disney vacations, we have 4 character meals booked. <sigh> (Usually we book almost exclusively signature and interesting ethnic restaurants. Had to replace Sanaa with H & V, which does not thrill me, but has my DS so excited that I will try to erase memories of the bread service from my mind.) At least H & V does double duty as both Star Wars and meeting the classic Disney characters. ;)

I wish the Star Wars meals would be so successful that they decide to bring them back as permanent additions to DHS. Assuming we enjoy them, we would book them every trip, and it would take DHS from an occasionally do park to a must do park for us.

My two wishes for the breakfast/brunch would be some sort of decent protein option and Mimosas. If it is too carby, we get hungry again too fast. And Mimosas would improve the rest of the day.

I hope we are there at the same time so I can toast you!
