HELLO. I KNOW THERE ARE ALOT OF VARIABLES TO THIS QUESTION BUT HOW ABOUT A GUESS. WILL BE THERE FROM 12/27/05-12/31/05. IM TRYING TO SEE WHICH ONE OF THESE PARKS MIGHT BE BUSIER ON A FRIDAY NIGHT. EPCOTT OR MGM. THAT IS IF BOTH OF THESE DO NOT HAVE EXTENDED HOURS ON THAT DAY! THANKS ::MinnieMo

Thursday is Epcot's PM extra magic hour and Friday is Magic Kingom's PM extra magic hour. ( I just looked it up, and thats the current schedule) Neither day currently has an AM extra magic hour. You probably could pick either park and be ok. Especially in January. Fantasmic is a must do for us, and if Friday is the only day you can go to to MGM... then definately do MGM.

We go at this time every January and you are going to find pretty low crowds the entire time of your stay. Saturdays at MK still get crowded. but only by January standards. We are used to rather low or no lines at the end of January. So if we have to wait 20-30 minutes for something like Haunted Mansion or Buzz Lightyear, we consider that crowded ( January crowds have definately spoiled us!!) We will be there in January 05 too., but our friends passes expire on Jan 28th so thats the day we will leave. I guess its the 18th-28th for us. Hope thats not Martin Luther King weekend!!!!!!

Remember that the EMH hours are subject to change. Especially w/ the holiday's and many parks staying open much later to begin with.

THANKS FOR FAST REPLY. I WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT IT WOULD BE TERRIBLY BUSY BETWEEN X-MAS AND NEW YEARS? :sunny:

It is the most crowded week of the year. So there's no doubt it's going to be busy. Parks like MK in particular will close due to capacity several times during the week.

However, with a good plan it's very doable. I would never take that first trip or a once-in-a-lifetime trip during the Christmas holiday. It's a given you will only accomplish 1/2 of what you can during many other times of year. However, if you've been before and are going again then I'd go more to enjoy the atmosphere of the parks at the holidays.

Here's a thought to add....Epcot holds a lot more people...it's just bigger, so it will feel less crowded than MGM always.

"terribly crowded" is an understatement. It is wall to wall people. Gives you a new appreciation for the phrase "packed like sardines" :rolleyes1

SECOND TRIP, BUT FIRST WAS BACK IN JULY OF 95! WE ARE REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO IT BUT IM SAD WE WONT GET TO DO EVERYTHING I WOULD LIKE. OUT OF CURIOSITY I TRYED TO CHECK FOR ANOTHER RESERVATION FOR SAME DATES AND IT SAYS NO AVAILABILITY FOR EVERY RESORT! I DID THAT FROM DISNEYS WEB PAGE. THE DATES WERE KIND OF OUT OF MY HANDS. I AM WORKING AROUND A CRUISE MY EXTENDED FAMILY HAS SET UP FOR THE WHOLE BUNCH OF US TO GO ON. ILL TAKE DISNEY ANY WAY I CAN!! :cool1:

Plan your time carefully for MGM because it tends to be uncomfortable in places when it's real crowded. For just general touring, Epcot is a lot more manageable with the exceptions being Soaring and Test Track. You might also want to make PS for any event or restaurant that you wish to go to.
