What WDW souveneir are you waiting to splurge on "someday"?

Well its not necessarily a WDW souvenir but I'd love to have one of those hand drawn portraits by the artist who sits in the lobby of the Beach Club. i've seen a couple of those and they are beautiful! Might splurge on one of our DS during our December trip.

Last year I splurged on the ceramic Cinderella's Castle decorated for Christmas. The only problem is, now that I have visions of the Main Street Station dancing in my head..... ;) Guess I'll have the whole set soon!!

If you decide to do this, watch for awhile to see how accurate the drawing is. We had our DS's portrait drawn in the MK a few years ago. I was very disappointed with it. If it wasn't hanging on the wall in our living room, you'd never guess it was of him. :sad2:

Great thought!

Definitely the handpainted paintings in the gallery @ the Poly.

I took a picture of the one I wanted. It has Ariel at the very top touching the mouth of a humpback whale. The thing is like 6 ft tall.

I inquired about the cost, and how convenient! I could finance it for only $800 down and payments of $136 a month for 3 years...don't think so. I took a picture of it instead :teeth:

A couple of things.

In the Imagination Pavilion where you can get your images etched in crystal, I want the one that is shaped like Mickey ears with the base that makes it change colors. I think its about 250. I am waiting for the kids to get older I think.

2 - Family photos with Disney photography. I am thinking now I have debated on where to have them taken, I think I would love the WS, and also at our DVC home.

3 - Some of the really pretty art in the Art of Disney.

DVC (I am working on DH to let us buy into it)

Any of the artwork in the Art of Disney store (last year was the first time I had stepped into there, and I wanted to take it all home with us!)

It would be art, maybe a cell. My sister gave my twins each a Winnie the Pooh cell for their first birthday. I was so jealous! : ) I have them hung in the hall so I can enjoy them everyday.

When I went for the first time in the 80s with my parents, my Mom bought a figure of Dumbo pulling a Christmas sleigh with Mickey, Donald and Pluto. She got it as a reminder of our special trip. When we moved into this house, my Mom gave it to me. I love to put it out every Christmas. I plan on getting something special in June to pass down to my children to remind them of their first trip!

I really want one of those 3-D crystal cubes with my four kids pictures floating in them.....really, really!!!

I'd love one of those monorail's for under our tree too !!! :thumbsup2

We just splurged on DVC so we are broke now - Ha! Ha!

WOW, I feel so deprived. On our last trip, which was my first as an adult, I didn't buy many souveniers. I only got a mickey ice cube tray, scapbook items, disney bank, candle and a picture frame.

Going to disney with 10 other family members was so hectic. I didn't even get a chance to really shop on main street. Oh, and for Epcot, we were there for about 2 hours and most were tired. I had to speed walk thru the countries, and once again, didn't get to go into ANY of those shops.

Never again...2008...Disney here I come and you better be prepared (and my DH's wallet better be as well)

I always wanted one of the handmade papier mache' masks from Italy in Epcot and I finally got one last trip. :cool1: I absolutely love it. My dream spluge is of course DVC. :cheer2:

Me, too! :thumbsup2 I guess there are a lot of us that like those Skagen Mickey watches! I bought the brown one with the brownish crystals. I really liked the red Minnie watch and would have bought that one, if it had been Mickey instead of Minnie.

ok what is this? what am i missing out on???? does anyone have a pic of these watches???? thanks a bunch!!!!!!!!!!!

Mine's completely different then what the other poster described. Mine has a pink leather band (it also came in a pretty green). The watch itself is ultra thin, and has a small silver Mickey head silhouette on the face. The Mickey is quite subtle, you have to be looking to see it. I too got mine in the Grand Floridian gift shop. I saw it while I was having my Photopass CD burned and fell in love. I just did a search but couldn't find any pictures anywhere. I've never seen them anywhere else.

My DH wants anything from the Art of Disney - primarily those two foot Mickey statues. I want one of those necklaces or bracelets - they are gold and the chain is made of little Mickey icon heads all stacked on each other. I think the 14kt bracelet was about $400. Ouch.

We also saw a gorgeous Lenox Cinderella's Castle for $200 - it was limited edition so I'm sure we'll have to get the next one. :teeth:

OK, all you Big Ticket Folks, I'm downright embarrassed to admit what I won't splurge on....DH and I love the psychedelic hand-painted Mickey head coffee mugs in one of the shops in AK, but we have a really hard time spending $30 for one coffee mug. After reading all the responses, though, I realize I just need to go ahead and blow 60 bucks on a mug for each of us. :goodvibes

Since I was a child, we have been watching CMs make the blown glass/spun glass art on Main Street. I usually come home with a small piece, but the pieces have remained the same for the most part over the years. I would LOVE to have the castle and Cinderella's coach. They would complete my collection.

I have always wanted the Cinderella Castle made from the blown glass. I have drooled over that one for years and years. I couldn't afford it when I had my CM discount. Sigh...

DVC would be wonderful too!

For those wanting the Skagen watches - we saw them for 50% off at the World of Disney on 5th Avenue in NYC last nite! They had the white band with Mickey icon heads and the pink one too. We just stopped in for Potato Head parts so I didnt really get to look closely but it may be worth a phone call to check and see what they still have!

:)
