What WDW restaraunt won't you go back to? And why not?

For me I have to say the Rainforest Cafe. I have tried a few times, every time my food has been tasteless. I tried burgers, chicken sandwiches and salads because my husband has told me I just must order the wrong things, but still have not found anything I like. The last time I was there I got horribly sick that night. I will never go back again. The atmosphere is great for the kids though.

Prime Time Cafe at MGM. I couldn't stand it. I couldn't wait to get out of there. The food was good but really didn't like being fussed at. We had never heard of it so we had no idea the atmosphere.

anyone else have this problem? This is the only rest. I am wondering about changing.

I can only think of one...San Angel Inn. It wasn't horrid or anything, but the food and service was bad enough to make us think twice before returning.

Come to think of it, I am very sure we'd never return to the Princess Breakfast at Akershus. Even though we did that on the free DP, the food was mediocre, not enough of it, and we didn't figure out til later that the server charged my DD2 a TS meal for this! Then it took me forever to get the CM's at POR to take it off!

With that said, we've eaten at quite a few WDW restaurants and have loved all of them, minus the two above...which weren't terrible. Boma and Ohana are two of our favorites that even my kids love. As a matter of fact, when we went to Boma for dinner last year for the first time, my DD16 was not feeling well, so she didn't eat much until right before we were getting ready to leave. She loved the prime rib(she's a big beef eater) and asked to go back this October so she could fully enjoy it.
I haven't read thru this whole thread but I agree with the poster early on who told everyone to take some of these opinions with a grain of salt....at least if you're relying on these opinions to make your decision on eatng there or not. If I had listened to negative reviews, we never would have eaten at Boma, Le Cellier(our absolute fave), or Ohana. We love them all. As far as buffets go, even if your ADR is made, when you arrive, go inside the restaurant and look over the buffet. If you don't like it, go elsewhere. This is exactly what we did with Akershus for lunch one day. We quickly figured out this wasn't the place for us. We ended up at the Biergarten(after looking over that buffet also) and LOVE it! Just ask to go in, no one has ever minded.

If you don't like to be part of the act do not go to PTC. We knew what to expect and enjoyed the interaction with "our cousins". One time a very grumpy man sat next to us. He was not in the mood for play. Unfortunately the waitstaff didn't realize this and started the usual routine. The man got up and left in a huff :rolleyes2 . We told the waitress he wasn't from our side of the family :rotfl2:. I think it is similar to the Whispering Canyons but I've never been there.
We like it and the homey comfort food.

the worst breakfast I ever had was at Maya Grill at CSR. I gave it another chance and went the next day: just as bad, if not worse.

CRT is the absolute worst meal I have ever paid for at WDW. they ran out of food and we had to wait and wait and wait. There was no "second helping" of anything when the food finally arrived. Worse it was cold and greasy: unfortunately nobody in attendance could authorized a refund. So that made it worse.

I will not longer eat at 50's Prime Time, do to the fact that it does taste like 50's food.

DW and I had the opposite problem when we dined there back in '02: Our server lamely stated (almost as an afterthought) "elbows off the table", and that was the first, and last, time our server made any attempt at "the act". (DW and I thought it may have been because we were a couple with no children. Who knows? :confused3 ) The waitstaff hamming it up and scolding people was pretty much the entire reason we decided to dine there in the first place. The table next to us (a large group of people, complete with kids) had a server who was so into it, he was almost over the top. But not us. So... we were pretty much left with the food, which is on a par with any Cracker Barrel we've ever dined at. (And, come to think of it, almost the entirety of our local Cracker Barrel's waitstaff, combined, is more surly than our PT waiter was... and I don't think it's an act. :rolleyes2 )

Big River - food nothing special

Nine Dragons - gave me the runs

Chefs De France- just not our type of food

EW EW EW- Boma's. The ONLY reason I believe everyone is soo excited is the ZebraDomes! And at 20+ dollars a PERSON, ZebraDomes can be skipped! Yucky food- Crowded tables, and half of the things are unidentifyable. The servers are nice, yes, but hello- it's WDW! I went up to get a sliver of what I thought was meat? When I got back to the table, my daddy was like- "Wow, you like such and such?" I wanted to fill up on ZebraDomes, then get the heck outta there!! LOL

The last trip we took was in Nov-Dec 2005. It was just my DH and I. We will not go back to:

Liberty Tree Tavern-
We thought this is great place if you have your kids or if you are in a big group. We ate here before MVMCP and felt rushed and uncomfortable. Our server was nice, but really busy so I never got a refill, and he only came by to bring our food and check. We sat in the corner right next to the kitchen. It was really dissappointing. BUT, we will try again when we take our DD there.

Sci-Fi-
IMO, not that great. The awkward-seating is what threw me. I had strangers sitting in the same car as me...staring at the back of their heads. Not my thing. The food was ok-not worth it, though.

Pecos Bill-
Food was good, but WAY too crowded! I am short and felt like I was going to get trampled by hungry tourists.

Pop Food Court-
Food was not good. Just wasn't happy with the choices.

The Turkey Carts-
Gross! Greasy and lots of ligaments...nuff said.

Restaurants we loved:
CRT-table right by the window during Wishes. Food was excellent and so was the service. I was called princess by a cute server...

Le Cellier-Everything was great here....just make sure if you want to eat here to get ADR's...people were being turned away and were very upset.

Crystal Palace-One of the best buffets I ever had. Great selection!

Columbia Harbor House-Delicious fish and chips! Quiet upstairs, great view!

Teppanyaki... the food was mediocre with very little taste. And very expensive. Guess we were dissapointed. We have a really good japanese steakhouse near our home for a lot more reasonable price and the food is in another league.

I would have to say Akersus for breakfast. The rolls were dry as all get out. Then the skillet came out with scrambled eggs, big sausages and potatoes all mixed on it. The character part was wonderful but we left hungry.

Coral Reef - Maybe before the DP this place was better but when we went the menu was very limited and limited to nothing interesting. The food ranged from acceptable to dreadful. We vowed never ever again. And we had a lovely table right up by the tank. Even the atmosphere couldn't save this place. The only thing that saved this one from the added problem of being overpriced is the fact that they didn't charge me for my meal. (because it was so bad, not because they forgot to.)

Our two cents:

Loved Earl of Sandwich. Hubby had the best meatball sub that he's ever eaten, I had half a jerk chicken sandwich and half a raspberry turkey sandwich. They were both fabulous. Can't wait to go again. :thumbsup2 Got the kids in the party the only McDonalds they had the whole trip.

Could do without a Liberty Inn visit again, mostly because of better things to eat nearby. Kids were okay with it.

Pop Food Court was okay for the meal stuff, but great for the waffles.

Sci Fi is just terrible but we love the atmospehere

1900 prk fare was way to much money for the offerings, so not worth it :sad2: Thank goodness we did it on free dining :teeth:

My first pick would be Boma. I have red meat, fish, or chicken with sweet sauces, and almost everything here seemed to have some kind of sweet flavor attached to it.
My next pick would be Artist Point. Our server rushed us through our meal and there was, literally, one other couple in the restaurant. My DH and to send his salmon back twice because it was completely undercooked (who started this craze with undercooking fish?). Also, my berry cobbler was totally tasteless. Very disappointing for one of the meals that had so much hype surrounding it.

Rainforest Cafe in AK!! Even w/ PS we waiting over 45 min. and then the service was slow, even though it was not crowded, we had a horrible table even though others were available and the food was prepared horrible.
It has always been a favorite for our family, but it wasted a huge amount of time from the AK park. Next time we will do the DTD Rainforest instead if we ever do it.

Akerhouse, the food was marginal, however the characters were wonderful.

WE lOVED Alfredo's, Ohana's, Kona's and Crystal Palace all the times we have gone!!
