What WDW restaraunt won't you go back to? And why not?

Pepper Market, because DH refuses to! I thought the food there was good and the margarita - yummmmmmmm. But DH's meal was nasty and the system of ordering just didn't work very well. We get the concept but we think it was mismanaged. Plus some of the CMs just seemed clueless. It took forever for the adults in our party to get their orders, and of course by the time they did the kids had long since finished. We sat down at about 8:30pm, so although we were there at a busy time of year it really shouldn't have taken the time it did to get our food. I wasn't bothered by it at the time (that is one GREAT margarita) but everyone else was really put off.

I've heard similar stories about the Pepper Market... really seems hit or miss with most people. It does seem a bit small though for the size of the resort though, all the CM's look like they're running around with their hair on fire there.

The only place I can think of that has been really bad is Pizza Planet. My kids love going there.
This is NOT pizza!!!Anyone who comes from an area known for pizza, like I do :teeth: , will tell you that Pizza Planet pizza is a cardboard disk with ketchup on it!! :rotfl2:

Lol, you cannot compare NY or Chicago pizza to anywhere else in the country. You just can't. It's against the rules! :teeth:

Big J . YOU ARE RIGHT . TAKE THESE POSTS WITH A GRAIN OF SALT! THAT BEING SAID THE OLD SAYING "YOU ONLY GET TO MAKE A 1ST IMPRESSION ONCE!" APLLIES HERE. OBVIOUSLY NO RESTRAUNT/EATING PLACE HAS BEEN CLOSED AT WDW BECUASE OF NEGATIVE POSTS, THEY GET CLOSED BECUASE EITHER THERE THEME/AGE/PURPOSE NO LONGER IS A GOOD ATTRACTION, OR ATTENDENCE DROPS. THE LATTER USUALLY HAPPENS BECUASE OF BAD SERVICE/FOOD/ATMOSPHERE PEOPLE HAVE GOTTEN AND THEY DON'T RETURN , OR WORSE YET WORD OF MOUTH OF THERE EXPERIENCE KEEPS NEW PEOPLE FROM TRYING IT. ITS JUST LIKE ANY RESTARAUNT IN ANYONE'S HOMETOWN. WORD OF MOUTH DICTATES HOW WELL OF BUSINESS THE RESTRAUNT WILL DO IN THE LONG RUN. :teacher:

CAPS LOCK.

I agree! I'm from the north and pizza in TN is disgusting at every place I've tried. Completely inedible. Also Agree Pizza Planet is grose cardboard pizza and the service is no better.

Food is a subjective thing. Many folks find things "bland" but you have to remember that these restuarants have to cook for a wide variety of tastes. It is easier to add spice than take it out.

I personally do not go to WDW for the food-it is not my top priority. I go to enjoy time with DH and DD's, ride the rides etc. If you are looking for culinary excellence, The World may not be where you find it.

I cannot say that I have had an absolutley horrible meal in WDW, with the possible exception of Coral Reef. This was not the restuarants fault, but more ours as we read the menu and thought, well we'll ty it. We did not care for it, but that is not to say that someone else would not.

Undercooked food is a concern, but that happens here at home as well. Bad service needs to be addressed at the time, or else the management never knows to correct it.

On the cruise boards I subscribe to, there are multiple threads about how the food was the absolute worst thing ever or the best meal on the high seas. To each his own.

We happen to like the LTT, and plan to go again this year. We like the character meals and have always had good interaction while there. We also like CP. We will not however be doing CRT again. We did breakfast once and I can say, been there, done that, but at the current pricing and credits, I will pass for now.

I would suggest checking out the menus before you go-I know they are on allears.net. But to say that you will change all your ADR's based on the posts of complete strangers may be a little hasty.

JMHO......................

My husband and I are from Chicago (IN the city, not a suburb) and we know pizza well (his fave is Lou Malnati's, mine is Giordanos). But we didn't find Pizza Planet to be so horrendous. It's not gourmet...it's theme park pizza. Obviously people have different tastes, and ultimately you can't really compare theme park pizza to the pizza capitals of the country... ;)

Anyway, the place we won't go back to is California Grill. We ate there for free when my aunt & uncle put their credit card on file and paid for our dinner as a wedding gift. We were not impressed with the food....just "ok" for being so pricey. Maybe we'd go back if it was paid for again, but not something we would willingly dish out the cash for.

Has to be "The Earl of Sandwitch." Just nothing like Disney at all. Madhouse, poor organization, wilted salads, confusing layout, and we won't be in there again. Just cheap in general.

First, we happen to be one of those weird families that LOVES Liberty Tree Tavern. My boys like the food that tastes like what we pop out of the freezer on a night we are busy running to and from practice...it's something that I know they will eat and like...on top of that, the other meat/bread is really good (in my opinion) but the reason we love it? We love American history and we love characters...so for our family, it's a winner.

We also like (not love but like) Hollywood and Vine. It's always been good for peel and eat shrimp and good pasta salads. My family likes eating right after the parade and all we do is walk over a few steps and we are eating dinner.

We don't like the turkey legs at MK(go figure I hear MANY people LOVE them and make a habit of always getting one every vacation...again, to each his own). It was just too "gamey" for us.

PLACES WE WILL NOT DINE AGAIN:
San Angel Inn-BEAUTIFUL setting. HORRIBLE food. The chips and salsa they bring you before hand were salty(both), stale (the chips), and just plain bad. Taco Bell has them beat hands down (as does every other Mexican resturant I have ever been to). My entree tasted like canned noodles with sauce with some chewy shrimp thrown on top. We have five in our family and nobody liked the food on their plates. I had heard from others that the San Angel Inn had poor quality food/service but we wanted to eat in that setting. So we enjoyed the pictures we got back of the kids with the ride scenary in the background but the food was really substandard (even if my only standard was Taco Bell). ALL OF THAT SAID, if you just want to eat there for the setting, order dessert and drinks AFTER having dinner somewhere else.

Pizza Planet- just plain cardboard with pizza sauce. At least that what it tasted like to me. Again, the atmosphere makes it appealing to our family so we will stop in again just to play a few of the games (we have a huge TS fan in our midst).

Every other Disney dining experience was a good one! And we have had lots of them. :thumbsup2

I forgot to mention San Angel Inn as a place that I will never eat at again! Thank to the previous poster for reminding me! :) I have eaten there several times in the past and loved it, but the last time I ate there, in 2003, I got SO sick :crazy2:, that I almost missed our Illuminations cruise on Breathless! :furious: It was the most TERRIBLE experience that I've ever had at a WDW restaurant, and after going through that, have no plans on ever dining there again. :sad2: :)

IMHO the "dining plan" is a poor idea. It is a mistake from a quality, service, and financial perspective.

Like a few mentioned I also believe that the whole "food" side of Disney is going downhill and I believe that the dining plan will help to continue to take it to new levels...of poor quality, including service! :guilty:

Chef mickeys dinner EWW (at least wehen we went)
Place was cute. But food was uncooked, chicken still bloddy and the raviloi was still frozen! :crazy2:

I could not agree more. I would be so happy if they did away with it as soon as possable.

Another vote for Big River Grille. It is the only Disney Restaurant they we know we never go back to.

Can I ask why you think this? I've heard people say this before, but I'm just wondering why? :confused3 I'd think the resteraunts would be happy to have more business... :confused3

For us it would be Beaches and Cream. I wouldn't say we'd never dine there again but we'd have to have good reason to dine there. The wait for a table was horrible but that was to be expected since it was a small restaurant. What was not expected was when the hostess started seating everyone out of order just because his friends came by. Anyways, the burger I got was a park burger. Then, I read on DIS that if they run out of burgers they use the regular park burgers. Had I known that before I ordered I definitely would have order another meal. I think it is horrible for you buy food and then get a subpar burger when they run out. The whole concept blows my mind. One thing dh and I learned about WDW vacations is that we like eating at sitdown meals where you can make ADR. So I'm sure Beaches and Cream influence our choices since we don't like waiting. We waited about 1 1/4 hrs for our table to be served the subpar burger!

Other than that we were disappointed in some places we ate at and loved others.

Over hyped. Wait staff was rude, rushed, and literally took our order while walking by. Dinners were unimaginative and small. Even dessert was bland and dissapointing. View of MK fireworks was not nearly as good as from in the magic kingdom. No way CG is worth 2 points. Jiko is well worth a special trip.
