What WDW restaraunt won't you go back to? And why not?

It wasn't that bad! :rotfl2: It's just the idea of head cheese threw us off! We just stayed away from that part of the salad bar! :lmao:
What kind of cheese is it? Sounds pretty Yucky to me. I'm thinkng of Le cellier and no princesses for DD. We are going to CRT though. I like 1900 park fare for food but DD does not like the "stupid prince". She is at a stage where she doesn't like boys at all.

I know! It's FOREVER away and I'm starting to wonder if even THAT will happen.. financial issues:(

Probably the snack bars at the All Stars Resorts... last time I went to an all stars resort, they only were serving junk food (2001 I think). Not that I disliked the food, I just like more options when I prefer to eat a meal, even though I think those places are more intended as for snacking.

San Angel Inn. Love the atmosphere but the past few times we've gone, the service has been spotty and the food kind of gross.

CRT. Used to eat lunch there once every trip, but I won't go back as long as the princesses are there (until I have kids, I guess!)

Akershus. See above. :sad2:

Liberty Tree Tavern - To me, it tastes like frozen food. Nice atmosphere, but the food just ruined it for me.

Citricos - we've tried it twice. The first time my DH had to send his lamb back 3x before they cooked it like he ordered it. I got a steak, and it was so mediocre. I could cook up a better steak. But, we wanted so badly to like it so we went back again last year. WORSE. The service was horrific. We were totally ignored by our server 1/2 way through the meal but he was up the other two table's a#@&#! My steak had to be sent back twice. The chef knew someone at the table beside of us and kept his big butt parked right beside my chair for most of the meal. We had no privacy. I will NEVER grace the door of this establishment even if I were given a free meal. NO WAY. The sad thing is we really really wanted to like it because it's a very cool looking place and we love to dine at the GF. I would suggest Narcoosee's. We had the opposite experience there.

Sci-Fi Dine in Theatre - Okay - it's a cute idea and all but the food can be summed up in two words: DRIED UP!

Big River Grill - Just plain bad food. Yuk. I can't remember what I ordered, but it was horrible. DH agrees. I must have blocked it out of my mind. Love the outdoor seating though. Too bad.

Spoodles - YUK. We looked so forward to this one. My husband ordered a chicken dish and the chicken was so dried up. He sent it back and it came back a little better but it actually made him sick. I mean literally. Ruined the evening because he felt so bad.

Well, this has been fun. I have been to WDW 65+ times, I have gone to every
restaraunt on property with the exception of SOG. In all my years I have never had a worse meal then at Concourse! We were sat a 8:30, got our food around 9:45. I ordered my filet med. rare. I got a charcoal bricket! We didn't even see our server until the bill came at 10:30!!!! I complained to the manager and was given a new steak and dessert. This was at 10:30! I was beyond hungery so we wrapped everything up and took it back to the resort. We have been in the past and it was ok to good most times.
Another vote for BRG. I am sorry Derrick!! (my friend who worked there for a summer before moving to Cape May) The service was always great (only went when he was working) but the food was awful at best!
Fultons for service! Never Ever Again!! That is all I am going to say on that subject.
On another note. To people who complain about Character Meals. Remember, Disney is banking on you going for the entertainment value, not the food. This has been the case for years!! Each year I hear more and more people comment on the food quality. It makes me laugh. Just go and enjoy the spark in your children's eyes as they have a one on one with their favorite characters. ::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo pluto: pooh: :eeyore:
Remember, you are on vacation!!

There are places where we have had food issues, or service issues, or both at the same time, but I generally will give a place a second (or third) chance before writing it off completely. That said, there are two restaurants that you could not pay me to eat at again.

1. Wolfgang Puck's cafe. On multiple meals, we have experienced overcooked burgers, raw burgers, burnt pizzas, raw pizzas, but never properly cooked food. The restaurant has been less than ideally cleaned when we have visited also, and service has always been mediocre. I've never tried the upstairs restaurant...maybe some day.

2. Restaurant San Angel, Mexico pavillion, Epcot. Caveat: our experience here is from about 10 years ago, and I am sure it is different now. However, our one time eating here is forever seared into our brains as a "must-not-repeat," as follows:

At the time, I was a vegetarian, and there was nothing on the menu for that diet. Before being seated, we inquired with the host, who said they could accommodate us. The waiter confirmed that they could prepare the enchiladas with just cheese, no chicken. I said that was fine. The meals came out, and my enchiladas contained chicken, so I sent them back. The chef came out of the kitchen, pointed at me, and started yelling at the top of his lungs! It was very disturbing to us, to say the least, and probably to everyone around us as well. The waiters had to push the chef, still yelling, back into the kitchen.

After this lovely scene, they brought out my entree again. It was obviously the same enchiladas they had brought out before, just with the chicken pushed out. Except for the piece that they left right in the middle of the dish.

Needless to say, we have not been back. May your experience vary!

We probably won't be going back to 'Ohana. We've always enjoyed great food and service there, but the new menu takes away just about everything I went for: shrimp dumplings, grllled shrimp and pineapple skewers with caramel sauce (come to think of it, that and a couple of chicken wings was all I ate last time I was there).

We won't be returning unless they change the menu back. :rolleyes2

OMG that's AWFUL I dont' blame you for not returning! As a former veghead myself, I'd have been :furious:

Biergarten is on our list...not good food at all and the service was horrid. We never got a refill on any drinks despite being next to the darn waitress drink station!

I wouldn't go back to:
Spoodles for breakfast. DH got the all you can eat platter but he could not get the waitress' attention for refills. My pancakes were like wallpaper paste.
Fulton's with at large party. We were seated upstairs on the top floor. The wait staff had to run up and down the stairs. It took forever to get our drinks and meals.

Not a fan of Chef's de France and Marakesh and won't go back. To be fair, I think a lot of restaurants in Epcot really aren't geared to kids enough and that was definitely an issue w/both these. Marakesh was impossibly slow and our kids meals were the last to arrive out  The belly dancer danced for about 3 minutes. Chef's de France was so so for food and service.

We liked CRT a lot but won't do it again at the price. We were disappointed by the limited interaction w/the princesses but the food was really good.

For signature restaurants, Citricos was lovely but not memorable the way CG and Jiko are. It's not that I'd diss it, I just didn't love it.

I had the pancakes too... we'll... a few bites at least... YUK! I haven't tasted wallpaper paste, but I could definately imagine them tasting like that. :rotfl2:

I'll have to think about mine for awhile, but I wanted to add for all of those that chose Liberty Tree as their worst because it tasted processed. I read somewhere before our last visit that it is a Stouffer's restaurant. All the food is sponsored by Stouffer's Frozen Foods! So I guess you all were right  I was going to go there on our last visit but after that review changed it figuring that I could eat Stouffer's for 2.99 out of my own freezer :rotfl:

Hi all--great thread! A little history. We've been going to WDW since 1981 and I have to say that it seems to me the food quality has been getting worse as the years have gone by. Don't know if it's because of the corporate-mindset escalation (make more money), the increase in the visitor population, or what. That said, I don't remember having a truly awful meal at any restaurant at WDW. Sometimes the menu was not what I expected, sometimes the food was not really great--maybe just edible. Sometimes the service was poor, but never downright rude. I do find myself comparing things to years past, at times--I try not to do that because it makes me sad to think how far things have fallen. Like someone else said, go for the atmosphere and try not to dwell on the food too much.

Honestly, I *think* that the biggest drop in food quality and restaurant service has come along with the Dining Plan. Disney has certainly done a good job of attracting to people to their restaurants, but at what expense? I guess they have slacked on food in some instances and not had enough service in others.

In my opinion, WDW food quality was pretty dismal until the early 90s. During the 90s, food quality seemed to go up significantly. In recent years, it's started to decline, but most full-service restaurants are still quite good. Counter service restaurants can be pretty bad at times.

BTW, in spite of everything bad said about it in this thread, I LOVED Liberty Tree Tavern.
