I would have to say for DD14 it was leather journals. She is into the Lewis & Clark expedition- has read the journals, other books, watched the documentaries, etc. At Barnes & Noble I found brown leather journals with unlined, yellowed paper, and a leather strip that wraps around to close them. Totally 19th century legitI got them in two sizes.
She just can't decide what to put in them.
She is also enjoying Mario Kart for the Wii.
scottmel said:That is so funny you say that. DD is into journal writing and she had just bought a cute paris type book and when I was at BN I saw leather journals for around 35 or so and thought they were GORGEOUS and had she just not bought the paris one I would have bought that one. Bet they were the same ones!
DD says her fav thing she got was a handmade Hogwarts acceptance letter (i got it on etsy) and i tied it to a stuffed snowy owl. second fav thing was a stuffed dalek that talks.
DD isn't a teen yet, but is a solid tween. She loved everything she got - it took us 2 hours to open gifts because we had to thoroughly look at each one and discuss it (why she likes it, why she thinks she got it, etc.)...I think her favorites were One Direction tickets (front row, baby!), new ipod touch, and THIS. (I know it is men's, but they were sold out of the girls version - I didn't realize quite how much she loves those ponies!)
We wrapped the 1D tickets on the back of a Justin Bieber DVD (she LOATHES the Biebs) and when she figured out what they were, she said she didn't know if she should scream or cry...she nearly did the latter.![]()
