What was your major in college?

I am working on the same. Although I keep hearing horror stories of not being able to get a job with just a bachalor degree.

My university received a 55 million dollar grant to put BSWs into DCS (one university in every state got this grant.) When we apply to the major, we can apply for the grant job, and we sign a two year contract at DCS.

But its true that the MSW or MSSW is the really powerful degree. I mean, you can have a private practice with that one. :confused3

My major was Information Systems. Instead of being a science emphasized computer degree it was a business related computer degree because it fit better with what I wanted to do with the degree.

BA in History. I'm currently in a dual masters program in History and Library & Info Studies

I have 3 and a portion of a 4th.

BS in Economics with a Business Concentration, an Associates in Finance and an Associates in the Liberal Arts due to a love affair with Shakespeare. I almost dual majored for my Bachelors in Poly Sci but I didn't want to do summer school to pick up that last class. I absolutely loved cracking the code on all the mumbo jumbo I remembered hearing on the news every night in the 1970's when I was a kid growing up. I remember the whole world tuning in to the Economists every night but almost no-one could translate for me. Funny how we almost never hear from them these days. Knowledge IS power and I use my 50+ credits in Economics & Finance every single time I open the newspaper... no-one is pulling the wool over MY eyes.

My almost 4th degree is for an RN that I started when my DD preemie was born because I wanted to work with the preemies. I love all I learned but now think my 40 yr old knees wouldn't be up to the job so I doubt I'll be finishing it up.

These days I am contemplating taking a Physics class because I really dig how electricity works in our bodies and think Neurophysics would be cool to learn about. Fascinating stuff, but not at the expense of my kids so for now I'll just dream:goodvibes

I got my BA in Biology with a concentration (my school's version of a minor) in Environmental Studies.

DH got his BA in Chemistry and MS in Medicinal Chemistry Molecular Pharmacology.

As of right now, we both use our degrees. I'm a presenter at a science museum and he works in formulations for a pharmaceutical company.

I have a BA in women's Studies. Go ahead, laugh. I've been gainfully employed since I was four months out of college, got great work experience while at my alma mater, and stand out from a pack of psych majors. I have friends with degrees that sounded realistic (like physics) who struggle to find a job.

Fashion Merchandising. I am a Merchandiser/Retail Manager of a shop located in a private club. I absolutely love what I do, though I wish it paid more.

I had a double major: Spanish and International Stuides.
I also minored in Economics and History.

Women's studies was my minor (I changed it to Spanish) I think a job that utilizes that area of study would be incredibly interesting.

B.A. Poly Sci - Pac Rim
B.A. International Affairs - East Asia
Minor: Japanese Language

Today:I am a Google Certified Search Marketing Expert & Web Developer specializing in click to call (lead) conversion.

Which is to say more simply "I DO GOOGLE"

That would depend on what degree they have, if you don't have a PhD in physics then you will struggle.

I'm still in school, but.. I'm working on an AAS in Nursing. Eventually I want to get my BSN in Nursing, and if I'm feeling ambitious enough.. DNP - Nurse Anesthesia. :thumbsup2

I majored in Environmental Studies. I started in Biology, switched in civil engineering, and finished with environmental studies because it accepted all of my credits. And I still finished college in 3.5 years! After college I went to law school. I'm a lawyer, but my job has absolutely nothing to do with environmental science.

Another lawyer here...

Got my BA in Communication Arts with a concentration in Electronic Journalism
Minor in Political Science

Got my Juris Doctorate about 10 years later.
