What was your first resort?

Caribbean Beach was our first onsite resort and we now consider it our home away from home. We have also stayed at All Star Movies, All Star Music, Art of Animation, Pop Century, Port Orleans French Quarter and Coronado Springs.

Old-timer here. First WDW resort was in March 1987. Shared (with in-laws) one of the "Treehouse Villas" (as they were called back then). Two bedrooms on the main floor. A third bedroom and second bathroom down spiral stairs, at ground level. That's what started it all!! Second resort was Caribbean Beach and we checked in the FIRST DAY the resort opened for guests. The resort was only half finished at the time! So special.

We stayed at the Days Inn that used to be next to Old Town in Kissimmee from 1971-1985. Our first on property stay was the Contemporary in 1986.

Technically I have never stayed in a Disney Resorts Collection hotel… but I did stay in the Holiday Inn on property which is within walking distance to Disney Springs.

If this counts however… I DID set foot in Disney’s Port Orleans Resort on the night before I went to Disney’s Animal Kingdom for a nice dinner back in June. So, Port Orleans was the first time I’ve ever been inside a Disney resort hotel.

We stayed in the suites next to Old Town years and years ago too. In 2016, we drove over to Old Town to check it out and it was a dump.

I'm just curious where everyone stayed for their first on-property trip. Have you stayed at that resort again? Is it one of your favorites?

The first time we stayed in the bubble was at Coronado. We haven't stayed there since, but we're going back in May and I'm so excited!

First resort was in 2018 we stayed at a one bedroom suite at the Beach Club, my nephew was 2 years old at the time so we needed plenty of extra space and a kitchen, it was awesome! Since then I’ve stayed at the Contemporary, Art of Animation cars suite, and All Star Music. For the future I would love to stay at a resort in the monorail loop like the Grand Floriridian or Polynesian!
