Non-serious question.

Mine was REM's Document on cd for Christmas in 87. Mom and dad insist I had music before that, but I remember getting that one for Christmas with my own cd player (like a boom box) and thinking I was SO cool.

What was your first album? Did you love it? Do you still have it?

ETA: I was 7, I still love it and its one of the few cd's that have survived my many, many media purges.

The soundtrack to Grease. I used to look at John Travolta's picture on the cover and swear he was looking at me. Summer 1978. Many hours spent in the playroom singing along.

I've seen that movie probably sixty times and still love it. I was six when it came out. My grandma took me to see it. I remember her being appalled by the content. I didn't get any of the sexual content at the time, but I suppose some of it was a bit risqué for a six year old.

I showed signs of being a nerd at a very early age

We're exactly the same age. I think Grease was my first album too. Not sure how many times I've seen the movie, but it's at least 50 times. Either that, or the Village People.

I think Grease had to be my family's pick for movie night this week.

Thriller by Michael Jackson. I loved it, but I don't still have it. I do still have my MJ rhinestone glove earrings and picture earrings, though, lol.

I think it was an album of kids songs:on top of ok Smokey etc.

But as a teenager:Madonna Like a Virgin.
My first cassette as a teenager: Run Dmc.

I had a lot of 45's that were handed die by family friends, Debby Boone to Gladys Knight and the Pips.

The first I remember getting is Cracked Rear View by Hootie and the Blowfish. I was 3 or 4 years old and I remember it being the best gift I got that year at Chuck E Cheese. I played it on repeat all the time and still have it.
