What was your favorite now closed disney resturant?

I am struggling to come up with the name of the restaurant for my fav closed place.

It was either at DTD or at the old Disney Village. Goofy burger, goofy kitchen, something with goofy in the title which served burgers. On my first trip i was 12 y/o and this was our go to spot. any help on the name???

WE liked the Crystal Palace before it became a Character place-it had very good food served Cafeteria style.

I miss the orginal Chef Mickey's at the marketplace. They had an amazing chicken pot pie. I also wish they would bring back the Jolly Holidays dinner show. We used to love that show.

I don't know why but I have fond memories of Aunt Polly's. I still don't understand why they don't have it open during the busy season, if only to get a drink / snack. Seems like a waste of space.

We LOVED Aunt Polly's. Back when they had a fried chicken meal in a metal pail and you could sit on the porch in the rocking chairs. Sigh. It was one of our favorite places to go and rest away from the crowds.

Sometimes you wonder what Disney is thinking.

My favorite from childhood was the Town Square Café (Now Tony's) in the mid '70's...when they were sponsored by Oscar Mayer. Used to get cool little hotdog rings when we went.

I really miss all of the following:

1. Top of the World/Contemporary - sunday brunch
2. Snack Isle at Polynesian (I know Capt Cook's has a lot of the same food, but I still miss snack isle)
3. Tangaroa Terrace at Poly
4. South Seas Room at Poly
5. Papeete Bay Verandah at Poly
6. Gulf Coast Room at Contemporary - not certain this is the name. but it was on the second floor near where you now check in for California Grill. I think the space is now a convention room.
7. Pueblo Room at Contemporary - I used to love this place, can't recall where it was; I think over in the back corner of Chef Mickey's
8. Coconino Cove at Contemporary - not really a restaurant - but I always remember having nachos there with my parents in the 1980s.
9. Town Square Restaurant in MK when it was sponsered by either Oscar Meyer or Delmonte - I rember they had a great Monte Cristo
10. Steerman's Quarters at Empress Lily

I know it wasn't a restaurant but who said Beaver Tails? Had to dig back a bit for this one.

I live a 2 minute walk from a Beaver Tails stand if you ask me nicely I can walk and get you one !
At the beaver tail stands here they have beaver tails with cream cheese, or with like nacho cheese sauce or sour cream and such...as well as all the sugary favourites!

I also have to say the Top of the World Sunday Brunch...that is such a childhood memory for me! We lived 40 miles away and my mom would take me over for a special treat! I had forgotten all about that, that's why I love these boards...great place to evoke memories

I agree with a PP....Chef Mickey's when it was at the Marketplace. That was where we went to eat as soon as we arrived in WDW....Mickey was walking around with his little chef's hat on....we loved it!

It was a victim of cost-cutting. When Port Orleans merged with Dixie Landings, Disney opted to retain only one of the full-service restaurants, Boatwrights. Thus, Bonfamilles bit the dust.

And Boatwrights was so awful that both breakfast and lunch were eliminated. So the only full service meal to be had at the entire resort is dinner.

We went there for our first meal on our honeymoon in 1999. Had hopes of eating there on each trip we made. We were lucky to get one more meal out of them in 2007 which was our first trip back, and with 2 little girls.

We miss it.

Please bring some to Disney on your next visit PixieDustandEeyore Pretty Please Stayed a few times in Ottawa in the early 90's on business and on one trip the hotel set us up with Ice Skates on the Canal. We had "REAL" Maple Beaver Tails and Coffee. Warmed the soul on a chilly afternoon. What an experience especially when having not attempted to skate since a teen. It sure wasn't like a bicycle. Stuck out like a sore thumb. LOL. Sorry to stray OT.

You're correct. Although my parents couldn't afford to eat there, I knew about it, and always wondered about the menu and service; it was very fine dining, according to the guide books.

Any board members ever eat here?
