What was your favorite now closed disney resturant?

I used to LOVE Alfredo's!

Its really interesting to me that most of the ones you all mentioned were in the resorts...I wonder why that would be?

Put another one for Odyssey. I remember in the mid-late 90's when my parents would give me money for food and set me loose in the parks (was a teen, and had been going to Disney for years so I knew my way around) I would love to eat there. I would actually sometimes hop the monorail from the MK to EPCOT just so that I could eat lunch at the Odyssey. (I REALLY loved their Key Lime pie.)

I also ate a bunch of other defunct and changed restaurants over the years there, but sadly haven't eaten much in the parks my past couple trips, so I can't really compare how they've changed.

i'd also like to say I missed the old EPCOT (Or even MK Guest Relations) dining reservation system. You had to make your reservations the day of...unless you were a Magic Kingdom Club member, in which case you could do it 3 days in advance. :teeth: I think AP holders also got a bit of an advanced reservation window back then too.

Definitely King Stefan's Banquet Hall. We visited Disney every summer when I was growing up, and ate there every trip. They had an amazing dessert called the Sherwood Forest, if I remember correctly...a chocolate crepe with a mint filling. Makes me hungry just thinking about it!

Does anyone know the name of a restaurant that had Rafiki as one of the characters?? I remember going there when I was little but want to remember the name. It was a menu restaurant and there was some sort of tree in the middle of the restaurant??

I always wonder what it is called. Thanks!

I think I miss the old Crocket's Tavern at Fort Wilderness the most. Years ago, Crocket's used to have 'make your own' pizza where you would make up the pizza yourself (cheese, toppings etc.) and then the staff would bake it up. As a kid I used to love nighttime after the parks when we would stop at Crocket's for pizza time

I agree, Crocket's Tavern was the BEST with the make your own pizza!! Those were the good times . . .

I just thought of another teensy little place that used to be at the Marketplace. I think it was called Minnie Mia's. ?? They had the best spaghetti verrrry inexpensive as well!!! I haven't found anything near that good to replace it.

another vote for missing Spoodles- and Tangaroa terrace....I also remember the molded mickey butter at Top of the World...

Not a restaurant but a food long gone: the Handwiches served under the Astro Orbiter in MK in the mid 90's. They were like a salad in a bread cone. Awesome.

I miss the original Chef Mickey's. Our DD was just 5 when she begged us to go. It was our first trip to Disney World. Her eyes lit up when she saw Mickey. We couldn't afford many sit down meals back then, but the memories of this meal are worth their weight in Gold.

Although we love Earl of Sandwich, I miss the original Gourmet Pantry. Always something fresh and sweet to eat there.

I miss Akershus before the Princesses.

And I miss Crystal Palace before Pooh took it over.

I miss breakfast at Boatwrights -- it was just so yummy.

I miss the original Tusker House.

I miss Bonfamiles -- many great meals here.

:sad1:

1) Fresh white rolls at Casey's. I know, not a restaurant but a glorious indulgence.

2) Spoodles for breakfast. I remember a great skillet breakfast.

3) King Stephan's for it's Prime Rib or Prime Rib pot pie. Can't remember but the meat was fabulous.

Another vote for the Concourse. We thought the steaks here were better than are last visit at Les LeCellier.

Bonfamilles
Tangaroa Terrace
Papeete Bay Verandah
Coral Isle Cafe (though we like the Kona Cafe)
Fireworks Factory
Crockett's Tavern
Steerman's Quarters

Concourse Steakhouse

Papeete Bay - had dinner there the night we got engaged

Original Land Foodcourt - handwiches & stuffed potatoes

Coral Isle Cafe - had a craving for their egg rolls while pregnant with DS16... DH arranged for friends to bring home a take-out order for me straight off the plane :goodvibes

Soundstage Breakfast @ MGM - having boys, this was huge... food was always good too

Communicore! I remember thinking how cool that was.

I remember that! A very cool memory from my childhood.

I miss what I think was called the Terrace Cafe at the Contemporary. They had a nightly dinner buffet that was a different theme each night.

I miss the old Crocket's Tavern at Fort Wilderness. I miss River Country too!

I miss Bonfamiels and the free beignets.

I also remember going to Narcoossee's for lunch and having Seafood Nachos with real crab meat! YUM!!!!
