Do you have any grades where your yearbook pic is less than flattering? Worst was in 10th grade. Big, big hair (those poor bangs couldn't move if they wanted to), braces, and way too much makeup(hot pink lipstick, anyone?. Typical late 80s look for my highschool, when the girls bathroom was toxic due to copious amounts of cigarette smoke and aerosol hairspray. Ick. Best was 2 years later, 1992, braces gone, hair toned way down, makeup not horrible. I actually looked kinda glam!

What were your best and worst years?

8th grade. Oh. MY. Like you, it was the bangs. Although it was the extreme awkwardness in my case, too. Oh, was I awkward. I almost cringe when I look at it, and I am not an unattractive person. I just had to get out of that phase.

9th grade, I had just gotten braces on- but he only put on the brackets, didn't do the wires for another week. (???) Yes, pictures in between. I wish I'd done a retake, I look really silly with brackets, but no wire!

Add in I also had that lovely 80's asymetrical hairdo my aunt talked me into. And I had a squinty smile when they took it. LOVELY, not!

Best, senior pic. My friend's dad was the photographer. It was blazing hot and my friend was behind his dad threatening to squirt me with a hose. It was just a fun time and it was totally reflected in the pic.

9th, 10th and 11th were not great....80s hair with the "pouf" of bangs...but senior year was my best pic ever. And our bathrooms smelled like Aquanet!

I'd have to say 10th Grade. It was "that time of the month" and I was really kinda bloated in miserable looking. Needless to say, that showed in the picture. That was the worst.

Best picture would have to be either my senior year ID picture or my 11th Grade ID picture because this guy I TOTALLY had a crush on said that I looked hot in my picture. Put me on cloud nine for that whole year. :wuv:

My high school pictures were generally good and my senior pix were great. But my sophomore year college pictures were awful! Back then "pulling class cards" was the way it was done. Upperclassment went first, then lower classes. You went from table to table pulling your class slot, then to a window to pay fees, then to the photographer, and then to the bookstore. Very organized. And you had to do all of it, no skipping out on the pictures.

Well, it was summer and in Alabama that means thunderstorms. I didn't have a car so I had to walk to the admin building for this stupid card-pulling adventure and I got soaked. Nevertheless, I had to get my picture taken. There I was in all my drenched, stringy-haired glory with granny glasses,to boot. Ugh. And this was the picture my then BF showed his parents when he announced that he was in love and gonna get married. I can only imagine what they thought.:sad2:

OK, first let me say I'm old, in my mid 50's.

In my 10th grade yearbook, there is a candid photo of me on Stars and Stripes Day. I'm wearing stars/stripes hot pants (yes, hot pants). And it's not a small pic, it's like an entire page of me in those hideous hot pants.

Some things should not be captured on film.

I'm not embarrassed anymore; I'll actually show mine...

The worst - 6th grade, 1985 (lovely poodle-permed mullet):

The best - senior year, 1991-92 (the one with the grey background was the one in the book):

Mine were all bad but my 6th and 7th grade school pictures were the worst. I have wavy hair and didn't know how to manage it plus there was no such thing as a flat iron in 1980 small town SC. I had freckles galore. 6th grade was before braces and I had horribly crooked teeth. 7th grade was with braces and I had the full metal ones too. :sad2: No wonder I never had a boyfriend.
