What was your best deal at CR? How did you do it?

I am trying to stay at the CR this Dec. and I really need a great deal. Can anyone please tell me what they would recommend trying? I am going in the off (low) season and I can get an AP if they happen to run really good deals at this time but if not it would not be worth it to pay for one. Also, did you book a package or all your things seperately, hotel, tickets, airfare, etc Thank you for any advice.
