What was with the parking CMs today

I had the worse experience at the Parking structure today. I arrive at little before 3pm and the line to get into the structure was outside of the parking structure. There were four lanes of cars going in. Almost to the parking booths 2 of the lanes merged because the lane was not open. Nowhere where there cones until the very end so you had not clue that you were not actuallyt w in a lane that was open. After over 20 minutes in line we finally got up to the booth. Up to the 6th level we go. There were 2 CMs sitting talking, where they were waiting to park cars, but no cars were coming, because the other CM at the end of the aisle was pacing back and forth not telling people where to go down (and the aisle that actually was mostly empty had cones blocking it off.) Many cars were either exiting, because that is where the cones led too, or were getting to the exit and turning around. Tons of cars were driving up the lanes the wrong way, because they would miss the last open space. It was a huge mess. There were people walking all over the lot, with cars driving all over the lot. I was waiting for someone to get hit.

They did extend the hours and added a fantamsic.

Normally from leaving my garage, to stepping into DL takes 45 minutes tops. It took over that once I was actually there.

WOW! That's horrible! I'm glad that they extended the hours of the park and added a F! show. I'd write to Guest Communications though. I'm sure they're aware of the situation that happened, but at least if they keep getting mail about it they won't let it happen again.

I recently had to write to GC about the rudest, most impolite worker I had ever encountered at the park. I'll go into more details about who and where it happened if people really wanna know.

Oh, yeah-- definitely post them (or at least the letter you wrote), please! --Would love to hear about how bad the customer service can be.

Omg, I have to agree!

We got there about 3:40 today and had nearly the same experience. We got in the rightmost parking booth lane, only to find out we needed to merge to the left when were were only about 7 cars back. Whey not have cones way back, so the merging doesn't have to happen.

We were led off to Daisy, and when we got there, there were like NO cm's to be seen. 1 dude was there and had just finished blocking off all the rows with cones. He directed us to the very end, and we went down the row closes to the elevators. There were no cm's at all, we just started looking for a spot and found one about 5 rows down, luckily it was the end spot and we didn't have to go the wrong way, but many many were. Nobody really knew where to go, and like you said, it was a accident waiting to happen.

Guess they didn't have their Team meeting today or something, it was just chaotic.

When I went last month, I only saw 1 parking attendent on the entire level. I arrived just before park opening so it was a little busy.

I did go in and complain in the park. The CM said he would call over there. I think I will write a letter also though, because I'm not sure if the CM I talked to was really going to do much.

We also had rotten parking last week. No CM's to direct traffic, people going down lanes that were full... For $11, you should at least get parking assistance!

We went Friday and also had to wait forever in the three parking lanes open. It took about 25 minutes just to get up to the booth.

I don't know if it's been discussed here, but someone has been robbing the parking booths and I think that may have something to do with the wait to get to the booth. No explinations for the lack of staff and organization inside the structure though.

Well, it'll be easier to just copy and paste the letter I sent to them. It's pretty long. And I know my grammar isn't the best, but I was typing it at 2 in the morning. LOL. Anyway, here's the letter...

Dear Disneyland Resort,

My name is Joseph Nielsen. I recently visited your parks; Disneyland, and California Adventure last week with my partner.

Upon arrival at Disneyland we decided that we would first take the Railroad to New Orleans Square and ride Pirates Of The Caribbean. When we got to the entrance for the train we were told by a nice lady, I don’t remember her name, that the train had to make one full trip around the park with no passengers. We both understood and decided to walk around Main Street for a bit. When we returned to get in line for the train approximately 15-20 minutes later we were greeted by the most unfriendly, most impolite man we have ever met at your park. I believe his name is Darrell or Darren. He told both of us in a very rude, and aggressive manor that the train was having “technical difficulties.” He showed no signs of being apologetic, he did not bother to recommend other attractions to visit, and made us both feel as if we were bothering him!

Neither one of us appreciate being treated the way that we were treated by such a rude worker, ESPECIALLY at “THE HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH!” If this had been our first trip to Disneyland we more than likely would tell friends and family members not to visit your park, let alone get in line for your Railroad.

We wanted to bring this matter to your attention and hope that it will be resolved as soon as possible.

Sincerely,

Joseph T. Nielsen

Needless to say I really hope that I don't bump into that guy again. Has anybody else had bad experiences with him?

it usually tkes us 36 minutes to get to DL. Today it took 25 from exiting the freeway to get to a parking place.

Then the security line was past World of Disney.

I took it from there that we would not be entering the parks today..

Such a dissapointment to my little guy. We did not know EVERYONE! was out of school..

Hopefully when we go on wednesday it won't be that bad...

You gotta give them a little slack, after they were just robbed recently.

:drive: Yup, they have been robbed twice in a month. On the 19th and 26th, I think. So it'll be like this for a while. I agree they need more CM's in the structure. But then again, I like to try to find a closer spot and not be motioned to park here. Even if I have to go around the stucture a few times. :car:
Patience is a virtue. Besides, any day at Disneyland is better than a day almost anywhere else. :laundy: :goodvibes: :dogdance:

Yes, I knew they had been robbed, and they did have police cars in in the lines where the pillars are (not the lanes where you drive) and a big survelance thing in front of the booths. But I don't see what having been robbed has to do with bad service in the parking structure. They already had 2 booths open, so why couldn't they have both sides of the second booth open instead of only one. Or put cones further back in the line so people didn't get into it in the first place. Since they do have cameras they could clearly see what a traffic jam they were creating. I also don't see why the 2 CMs sitting on the floor, and the one pacing couldn't have actually been working.
