He said something about wearing jeans right before Tom Hanks came onstage. Then he said, "Our next presenter allowed us to hit him over the head with a viola (?), Tom Hanks."
Okay all Jon said was another lame Brokeback Mountain joke and about Tom getting hit over the head with a Viola (from skit at very beginning).
I wonder who Tom was speaking to.
Preceding the VERY evident f-bomb....it looked like he was asking a question but I cannot make it out--almost like Are you mad? But he's not British--so I can't see him saying that. I also can't see him mouthing the f-word on live television either. Oh wait--I just did!

Thanks--I just checked....so he may be a moron (Jon Stewart)--I just dont' see how that was enough to warrant that kind of bad reaction on live national television. KWIM?
I don't know but it was quite awkward and they audience member they showed right after he came out turned to the person next to her and kind of raised her eyebrows.
Well I would love to hear his statement--b/c I know we aren't the only ones who caught it (I actually had it paused b/c i was working and then saw the thread so paid extra close attention--though it wasn't hard).
Regardless of the circumstance--you treat all mics like they are hot and all cameras like they are live when doing a LIVE broadcast. Very unprofessional of him.
(This was drilled into us in college--just something that you do not do).
A glare would have sufficed at showing his discontent.
Yeah, they flipped to Morgan F. when "Penguins" was being awarded.
I actually thought it was nice, his face (to me) looked excited
and he seemed like he was really trying to listen
to what the producers were saying.
Back OT, I was glad to read this thread - it was extremely obvious
about Tom Hanks. Would love to read about it tomorrow.
OT again, I felt so badly for Lauren Bacall.
I started praying for her that the Lord would just help her finish gracefully!
