We are preparing for our first cruise in March. I have seen lots of great pics of food and seen a lot of good reviews, but some not so good reviews... (pancakes, cheesecake)

So, tell me, what was the worst thing you ate on the ship? What are the menu items to avoid at all costs??:sad2:

There was a lentil wrap thing I had on the last night of our cruise .. it was horrible. I had to send it back and get something else. Completely tasteless :sad2:

I hated the Creme Brulee Cheesecake! Our neighbors at the table next to us hated it too!

Pancakes and waffles... yuck!!!
Still no improvement from Magic/Wonder.
I wonder if they get frozen stuff? Those things are almost as hard as hockey pucks. Even DD who LOVES pancakes wouldn't touch those things.

The only inedible thing I had all week was the lobster and crawfish bisque as an appetizer. It was really bad.

Only thing I didn't enjoy all cruise though!

gazapaco (sp?) Very salty.. I think someone made a mistake.

I wanted to order it again on our next cruise but our waiter insisted on me getting something else.

I will second that! Two spoonfuls was all I could stomach of that stuff. I was turned off to it as soon as it was set down and I caught a good whiff of it, even the smell of it was nauseating.

Cheese Souffle
Mushroom Moussaka
Any of the risottos, they just can't get it right on the ship.
The steak on the first night seems to always be tough, but the cuts improve over the course of the cruise.
Chocolate Lava Cake

The main course lamb dish in Lumiere's--someone somewhere really cheaped out on purchasing lamb. Grocery store lamb is head and shoulders above what they were serving. I love lamb, order it often in restaurants, buy it at the grocery store and the speciality butcher--and the Lumiere's lamb was substandard.
I also came to dislike the generic brown sauce (gravy?) that was served on a lot of red meats. I thought it tasted like a mix.

Those stupid wheat buns  they give you with the delicious hot dogs.

Dear DCL: If I'm going to eat something as unhealthy as a hot dog, please don't try to make it healthy with a wheat bun. :rolleyes1

Maybe this is on purpose. They assume everyone will want steak the first night. Then, when it is tough, people choose less expensive items to eat on the other nights. ;)

As you can see from the posts so far this is incredibly subjective. :)

While not terrible I find all of their cheesecakes to taste about the same and to lack a good cream cheese texture and flavour. I wouldn't say they are bad, but I would only choose them if no other dessert was available.

Both the creamy tomato and creamy butternut squash soups have taken a turn for the worse. The tomato tastes like spaghetti sauce and not terribly good sauce at that. The squash soup just is too bland. I think when they started spicing up other dishes they used the spices from the soups and didn't have enough left over ;)

The pancakes just never had good consistency. Very rubbery which is what happens when you mass produce. Too bad they didn't have a made to order pancake station.

The Krispy Creme donuts are great the first day but get progressively worse since they are frozen. Nothing good about a soggy glazed donut towards the end of the cruise.

Other than that I haven't found anything I thought was truly disgusting, but I am not terribly adventurous in my eating :)
