Dixie Landings , november 1999.
A magical first trip , so nice that we bought Old Key West sight unseen the next summer based upon the posts in the dvc section of this board, and the time we spent at Dixie. We knew that if Disney's moderates were that good, the home-away-from-home resorts must be fantastic !
We were right
.
Since that stay we have returned to DxL several times to stay, and stop by there several times each trip even if we are not saying there. I could just sit for hours with my mug full of soda and watch that water wheel turn - it's soo relaxing. BTW, has anyone else ever had the feelin that the soda simply tastes better from the mug ?? I know I do.
Since then , several stays at OKW, single stays at VLW and BWV, and upcoming stays planned at Animal Kingdom Lodge, OKW, and the Beach Club Villas.
About the only place I wouldn't return to is the All-Stars. I did one short stay there by myself some years ago, and it just didn't have the same feeling for me as the other resorts. I'm not knocking the quality - it's typical Disney. I'm just not the "dawn to dusk park commando, only use the room to sleep" type. I actually like the disney resorts unto themselves, and found that once I was clean and fed there was very little left to attract my attention at that resort. Just my opinion, worth exactly what you paid for it .
