What was the first resort you stayed at?

POFQ was our first on site and we love the themeing here. The gardens and buildings are just beautiful.

First on site resort was the Contemporary ~ but the Yacht and Beach Club quickly became our favorites :)

On our first Disney trip in 1987 we stayed at the Disney Inn. It was a wonderful trip and we've never stayed off site since. We've gone at least once a year every year since and now we own DVC. We just returned from 3 weeks at WDW, 4 nights at BWV, 4 nights @ AKL and 12 nights at OKW...the magic is still just as great!!

Our first resort experience was our honeymoon 11 years ago this coming October..we stayed at CBR and we LOVED it. It still holds a special place for me and is one of my top resorts along with OKW and BWV.

My very first trip to Disney was in 1992 when I was 26 years old. We went with my husband's whole family and we only spent one whole day at MK and stayed off-site. In 1997, after having my husband gone for six months in Germany (military), we planned a big Disney vacation for the two of us and our 5 year old daughter. We stayed at the Beach Club for a week. We loved every darn minute of it, and it took me 6 years to get us back there. We took advantage of the SoG/CR special, and we had a magical 10 days this time around. We visited the BC many times during this stay and really missed not being there. So, we decided to join DVC and made BCV our home! I'll definitely try other Disney hotels, but BC will always hold a special place in my heart.

My first trip was The Poly in 1973 when I was 3. Everything I remember about it was magical!:teeth:

We stayed there a few more times during my childhood. I'm finally going back to WDW in a few weeks. We have opted to save a little money and stay at ASMo. I'm hoping I won't be disappointed.

 etter
We've been to Disney World twice.
1St at All Star Music. It was our first time onsite & it was great. Lots of good memories.

2nd at Coronado Springs - a move up to a moderate. It was better. More room and benefits, beautiful grounds, and we felt like veterans of the system.

We're planning our third trip and are going to try another resort, maybe Port Orleans or Animal Kingdom.

:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Contemporary Resort, Tower Room, 9th Floor, MK View - only a few doors from the elevator bridge/lobby. I was 12, it was over Easter break. The CR has always had a special place in my heart, even though there are much better themed resorts on the property - to a 12 YO sci-fi fan, the Monorail was true Disney Magic!

Emy'sMom: Magic Kingdom Club - I remember that! My Dad worked for Chrysler, and MKC was how we booked our trip. I think we flew Delta (wasn't Delta the 'first' official airline of WDW?). I even remember the ticket books; 2 each of A,B,C,D & E tickets. An A ticket took you down Main Street in a bus/trolley.

Sept. 2000 my DW and I stayed at ASMU, it was ok because we didn't spend a lot of time at the resort. We mostly were at the parks or Downtown.

Dec. 2002 we stayed at AKL and was blown away. This was an awsome resort. We definately will stay here again.

Our next trip which will be in approximately 2007/2008 we will have to see about either staying a some different resort or do a half stay at one resort and half stay at AKL.
:earsboy:

Our first resort was a tent in Fort Wilderness Campgrounds! We even had room service (in the form of a lizard on my sleeping bag.) This would have been in the early eighties and I was about 15 at the time and we were NOT the great outdoorsy type, but we all agreed that staying at the campground onsite was far better than staying lizard-free in a hotel off-site. We bought a pop-up camper and stayed in campground for about five or six trips.

Now that my parent are DVC owners, we stay at OKW and love every minute of it...But I still find myself wondering over to the campground and reminiscing about the good old days in our pop-up.

I don't even jump when I see a lizard anymore!

Miss Park Avenue,

You were lucky to get a lizard back then. Now you need to make a PS 60 days out and call up at 7 AM to get it. :jester:

The first resort we stayed at was Wilderness Lodge this past Feb. We LOVED it. We are going back this Feb and when it came time to decide where to go, we decided it's best to stay with what we know, so it's Wilderness Lodge for us again. Not that I wouldn't mind seeing or staying anywhere else, I am just so afraid that it won't compare. I know that's silly because it's all Disney!!

The first resort we ever stayed at was All Star Movies in 2001. And on that trip we joined DVC. Since then we have stayed at ASMu, Riverside, OKW, and FW. I have yet to be disappointed in any of them.

Our 1st attempt was the Hotel Royal Plaza, (before wdw had mod's etc.) and we rode the buses and thought wow, this was GREAT!

Then wdw open CBR and we stayed there opening year! and haven't been offsite since. It was wonderful, buses, themeing, so many pools, disney non-stop morning till bedtime. thought we had died and gone to heaven! CBR we still go back, and visit each trip, even if we are not staying there. Remains a favorite. ;)

MKY :smooth:

We stayed at Dixie Landings for our first visit. That was in 1994 I believe and I had no clue about special deals etc back then.
We loved it actually. :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

The first time i stayed was at The Polynesian early 80's....Florida Resident Special....$99.00 a night...We loved it and stayed many times. Then when Wilderness Lodge was built we had to check it out....Loved it....went back to Poly for next stay. During visit knew that The Lodge now was # 1 in my heart....

1975-Poly on our honeymoon 28 yrs. ago!
Since then we have stayed at CBR several times, ASSP once, ASMO twice, POR once, CSR once, and last trip POFQ. This Dec. DH & I will be splitting our stay at the WL and AKL. Jan '04 we will back at POR with extended family. Next Dec. we want to try the Contemporary. But in "2005" DH & I will be back at the Poly for our 30th wedding anniversary!!! I can honestly say that we have never had anything but magical experiences at each WDW visit!!!
