Going with the worse advice thread, what was the best advice you received.

Me it was the shares,
The transportation site codes for rental car,

Register for Mouse Savers news letter

To watch the early admission parks and do a different one that morning.

Water friendly SHOE's and heavier gauge rain coat.

Moleskin for protecting rubs,

What was the name of the stuff for leg rubbing? I need that for next trip..

Take a cheap umbrella stroller and let it at the laundry area to share on. or I think the desk will donate.

My electric hot water pot was my tip.

Years ago, someone living in one of the southern states posted a AAA special that if you purchased one 5-day USO pass, you got a second one free. The northern AAAs weren't offering the special. It saved us a ton of money!

Garden Grocer and that Staples will deliver to the hotel (bought two cases of water last August, delivered to Pop (free shipping!). 48 bottles of water in Disney would have cost $120; my cost $9.99!! :cool1:

Getting to the parks for opening
Undercovertourist
Mousesavers
Sunshine Rewards

and most of all...Crocs...I haven't stopped buying them and loving them since my first trip in 2005...and I don't just wear them at WDW wither. But I have worn them for all of our 3 trips (in hot summer heat) and I have never gotten a blister!

Years ago I got a code on here for a discounted Discovery Cove day. Would NEVER have gone their without the discount and it was such an amazing day! Oh and Windsor Hills. LOVE Windsor Hills.

Years ago, someone posted about the Brita filter bottle. I bought one and it has been the best thing ever for our annual trip to Florida. It has saved us so much on water both at the hotel and at the parks. I still have the bottle and some filters.

If this thread is about general advice and not just budget advice, then I'd say

1) Windsor Hills
2) Tour Guide Mike
3) Refillable Mugs
4) bring throw-away raincoats
5) booking sitdown meals on the first available day to book
6) Paying for kids sit down meals OOP and saving their dining credits for a different meal

Renting DVC points. (Rent/Trade board) Read about it first on these boards.. tried it and loved it! Best deal was when we got the Boardwalk for $90 a night!! Now that I have 3 kids its not a bargain anymore b/c we can't use the studio but for a while we had some great deals!

Garden Grocer.

Orlando Stroller Rentals.

But the best was to stop getting Water Park Options on our tickets. Now we just go one day and buy a separate ticket.

The best advice I ever received on this board is that Fastpasses do not expire until park closing at the end of the day. Completely changed the way we tour - for the better!!!

I have gotten SO much good advice on this board! But probably the one that saved me the most is not about Disney at all, but rather about insurance. Someone mentioned that if you move from your house before you sell it, you will have to get a really expensive vacant house policy. Because I knew that,I changed my insurance decisions, and stayed with our current carrier, which kept the same policy until renewal.

Also..Undercover Tourist, and Sunshine Rewards are two of my favorites from the advice on this board!

Ok ...its not that big of a deal but a power strip ....it is truly a life saver for me because the outlets are few and far between in the rooms. And with a camera, camcorder, cellphones and sound machine --yes a sound machine-- life saver when u need that white noise...but a POWER STRIP

This!!:thumbsup2

Also, the best money-saving advice we learned here was to check USAA when searching for our new car. It literally saved us over $2,000 off of the next lowest price we could find anywhere. We had been researching for quite a qhile, too.

...and we can't forget all of the savings we're had by using codes we learned about here for our many trips to WDW! :cool2:

Best advice was to check flights from and to nearby airports. They might be much further away but the cost of the flights can be so much less that it more than makes up for the inconvenience.

1. Rope Drop
2. No expire time on FPs
3. Ridemax! Ridemax! Ridemax!
4. Take midday break
5. Rent points
6. Did I mention ridemax?:goodvibes

Oh and I almost forgot - FREE DINING!!!! I learned about the annual free dining discount on this boards and now all of trips revolve around free dining dates. For a family our size, there is no better discount than free dining - it's the reason we are able to return every year.
