What was the best Bargin you got at Disney World?

I think the free stuff was is the best.

- Free entertainers on BWV at night
- Free DVD Movies
- Community Halls
- Firework shows from top on BLT
- My kids and I will make an adveture taking the free boats from BLT or VWL to fort wilderness
- Pin Trading is almost free once you buy some pins
- Walking around - everything is amazing looking
- The smells

Well said -I agree! :thumbsup2

The blue DVC coolers $10.00 we have used it for 5 yrs. We keep it packed our OL. And going to DTD and watching the free entertainment.

1.- We have been to the world many times and over the years I had been noticing pixie dust waining -
When our kids where younger we stayed in our motor home at Fort Wilderness exclusively ,usually in loop three ,well this particular year ,we pulled in later and got another loop than usual,so while the boys where getting set up I wondered up to the boat area and around and on the way back got myself discombobulated ,So I see this woman brushing her horse out and asked her which way was the shortest way back to my loop and she took me for the longest carriage ride and that was not the best part her dad worked at the Fort from day one and she told me all kinds of cool stories as we road for about 40 minutes all threw the area SUPER COOL HUH !
2.- Another time we purchased a brand new Motor Home that year and somewhere in northern FL. it started acting up ,we finally arrived and I spent the entire next day calling for a repair place -Finally we found a place and I explained I needed this large repair by the end of the night ,they agreed I would bring it in a couple days by 6AM and it would be ready by 9PM well about 7PM , they called and said nope wouldn't be done and told me it was going to be 1100.00 dollars more than they thought -So I tried hard to shrug it off and not let it ruin the trip -I decided this would be moms chance to check out the Polly -It was spring break-rooms where about $450.00 but there was No room at the inn -oh no -same answer everywhere then I had a message on my phone to come to the front office of the campground (my ds 8 had lost his wallet ) anyway while I was there I asked if they would go ahead and check the allstars for me (my last choice for Moms treat but also the very last resort left and the cm was gone for the longest time and out came the manager and showed me the wallet and the 40.00 dollars was still in it ! AND the cm had told her about our dilemma and she comped us a cabin for the next two nights (I thought she was going to tell me no again I actually thought I might be homeless at WDW-)
I have never actually cried tears of joy so not sure if it was the stress of the day or what but I actually felt my eyes welling up .
3.- This wasn't super cool or anything but last year checking in at BLT about 430 so it was kinda busy -this guy was just being so mean to the cm crabbing and complaining about not getting his room request and crabbing about being A MEMBER (how embarrassing) eventually the manager told him in a very nice way that these where his two choices or he could always go somewhere else ,he was ugly but finally stepped away ,so by the time I stepped up the poor gal was so upset her hands where shaking and her voice even sounded a bit quivery ,so I had that mom feeling like she needed a hug so I tried to just schmooz her a little and told her I felt bad he had to be so belligerent and how well I thought she handled it -anyway she said my room wasn't ready yet but if I was willing to wait she would get me a great one so with not really much choice I agreed and before I could even finish my flat bread upstairs the room was ready and they threw in 4 two day hoppers for my family -and honestly I didn't do anything but be decent to her -

about 4 years ago my eldest boy was 2. we were at Epcot and something didnt agree with his belly. he ended up puking all over himself (and the stroller) so we went in to that big shop in the front (Gear Works, I think) and the CM ended up giving him a free shirt. it was way too big for him (kids XS) but it did the trick and now his little brother wears it often!

In January We had to stay an extra 2 days because of Tropical storm Nicole. The best deal was adding extra days to our park tix.

On our last trip to DL in December 2009, the Jamba Juice in Downtown Disney, right outside our hotel (Grand Californian) was introducing their awesome oatmeal. The whole week we were there the oatmeal was only $1. This totally fit our morning breakfast routine, we grabbed the oatmeal and enjoyed inexpensive, nourishing, and filling breakfasts as we strolled to the park. Saving money at breakfast allowed us to not feel guilty about spening more for dinner.

Last year, Pirate themed Disney character toys marked down to $3.00 each at the Poly. Normally I believe the price is 12.00.;)

Yet another good dining deal.

We love the Disneyland Hotel, and traditionally when we stay there, we have done breakfast at Granville's. This has been renamed Steakhouse 55 in the past several years.

It's a great restaurant for breakfast in the DL Hotel. Elegant, sit down, cloth tablecloths and napkins, and great service and food. Traditional breakfasts are still only $12 per person. This means omelettes, or eggs, bacon and toast, or pancakes, or french toast with fruit, etc. Eggs benedict is a bit higher at $14.00. I think $12.00 per person for a sit down, elegant great traditional breakfast is a great deal at Disneyland.

The meals at DL being large, our family can typically only eat 2 meals a day (a late breakfast and then a dinner), and then just snack on cereal or fruit if we want to in the afternoon. So finding a good place for an afforable breakfast allows us to fell OK at spending more money at dinner.

BTW, we are heading to WDW this December (staying at Wildrness Lodge). IF anyone can suggest some good places for affordable breakfasts at WDW that are similar to the Steakhouse 55 at DL, I'd really appreciate it.

Are we talking "free stuff" or the best bargain? :confused3 For me the best "Bargain" is DVC, which while not free, :rolleyes1 not even close, for me it is a great bargain because of all the reasons you all have attested to,:goodvibes and it takes me to my happy place, i.e. Disneyworld/Disneyland. :dance3:

Now “free”, well that’s another story. We normally spend 10-12 days at the world :banana:during my birthday (end of Oct-start of Nov), well I have received cookies, cupcakes, pins, badges, mixed drinks, fast passes, fast passes without the fast pass, etc. the list just goes on.:woohoo:

Not Free ,though that is always nice ,But whatever you feel to be a bargain

If you have little ones:

I have found all the souvenirs--especially the stuffed animals--in the AK Rainforest Cafe to be quite affordable. Also, my son is into a lot of the Japanese toys (like Bakugan) and they always have them on sale in the Japanese giftshop.

Seven years of free passes to the parks as a DVC perk. We bought in 1993. It was the best deal ever!

I appreciate being able to use the Magical Express when we don't rent a car. It is really convenient when we have family arriving from different places at different times. Saves us a lot of road time and tolls getting all of the group to the resort.

Agree! Can't believe it took 3 pages before someone listed this. We also joined in 1993 and all those trips those years with the free passes really changed how we vacationed.

Our first Christmas family vacation at WDW, we stayed at the Wilderness Lodge from Dec 24-28.....rooms were $149 a night and I got an extra 15% discount because I was a member of the Magic Kingdom Club. Now that was a program. Those rates were so good compared to todays rate during the Christmas season.

I would have to say this Feb. when DH was pulled over for speeding in front of Bay Lake Towers and the officer said "this is the only free thing in Disney" while handing DH a warning.:rotfl2:

Not on property, but about 2000 or so the Nick Hotel was HI Family Suites.
They had a BOGO for each night you stayed. We stayed for 10 nights and paid for 5, plus kids ate free at dinner (if we ate in the restaurant on site there).

We drove and didn't need use of their free shuttle so it was a great price and location. We had a 2 bedroom and it was wonderful. Since then, we have purchased 3 timeshares (DVC, OLCC in Orlando and HHI-not Disney) since once we had that extra room, we never could go back!

I also once had 8 day minivan rental for under $200. I always try to still beat that one too.

Our most fun was eating lunch at Akershus when my son came back with his shirt wet. A waitress had spilled a beer on him. They had him go pick out a T-shirt on them and offered to have his laundered. We declined and took it back and threw it in the Washer in our DVC unit.

Our best value thus far was 9 units between BCV & BWV as exchanges (three 2 BR, the rest 1 BR units).

A week at the Beach Club resort when it first opened for $89 a night, due to upgrade from Caribbean Beach Resort.
