What was No. 1, the day you were born

tie a yellow yibbon around the old oak tree by dawn :sunny:

I am very proud to say that the cheese-fest that is YMCA by the Village People was at number 1 when I was born!!!!!! :rotfl2:

Must explain my love of all cheesy records.....

This is great!!

Mine is-

UK....Rod Stewart-Maggie May (my middle name is May...and it was because of this song!!!)

US....Cher-Gypsies, tramps and thieves (least I was not called after this!! :rotfl2: )

Bright Eyes - Art Garfunkel.... don't think i know this one.
Dh was When i need you - Leo Sayer.

Checked out my life theme tune (number one on your 18th birthday) and it's "dizzy"by Vic Reaves and the wonderstuff :thumbsup2
Looked at DH life theme - "Take your daughter to the slaughter" by Iron Maiden

What a couple :rotfl:

I feel old :sad2:

Wideyes -The Land of Make believe was one of my favourite songs. Bucks Fizz were probably one of the earliest 'made-up' groups who were formed for the 1981 Eurovision which they won partly for removing long skirts on the girls to reveal mini's underneath !

Shellbell- Bright eyes is the really really sad theme tune to Watership down another favourite of my youth !

Snap!!! :)

Mine is Surrender by Elvis. I remember a similar thread some time ago when I remarked that I am a great Elvis fan and perhaps the reason is because he was number one when I was born. Well, when I was sleeping that night, the Tag Fairy came visiting and that explains how I got my tag! pixiedust:

I think I win the prize so far for the most appropriate songs both sides of the Atlantic similtaneously......

UK - Help by the Beatles :teeth:

US - I got you babe by Sonny and Cher :teeth:

Although DH's in the UK is pretty good tto - Please REleaseme by Engelbert Humperdinck. His US one was Ruby Tuesday by the Rolling Stones!

DD's were...

Lady by Modjo :confused3 in the UK and Music by Madonna in the US (at least I've heard of that - can't stand the woman though! )

This thread has made me feel VERY old - songs like Land of Make Believe, Are Friends Electric, Bright eyes, When I need you, Mull of Kintyre etc are from my youth - I can't believe there are people old enough to go to WDW without 'adult' supervision who were born when these songs came out..........................WAAAAAHHHHH I feel SOOOO OLD!!!!!!!
