We went the past 2 decembers. I think the promo came out in late August and was a percentage off your room. I think the promo ran to about the 20th or so. Definitely not during christmas. The had the same promo for the fall so it ran from some time in Sept through late Dec (I think it may have excluded Thanksgiving week).

Last year we went for 8 nights, 9 days (park hoppers) for 2 adults, and 1child in a moderate. The cost was about $1800.

I got 40% off this last December. The last day of the code was Dec.19th and I booked Dec.19-28 with it and got POP for only $49/night over Christmas!

I wonder how the change in pricing structure will affect a December code. Last year, if you checked in on the 19th (last day of value season), you paid the value rate for your entire stay. This year, Dec 19 - Jan 1 is a very expensive holiday rate and you pay that rate for those nights regardless of when you check in.

Last year, the discounts (AP, room only, package, etc) ran until Dec 23, despite the fact that holiday pricing started on the 20th. I hope they do that this year! We're staying at WL DEc 18-23. Paying a pretty penny for all but one of the nights.

Was there only a certain # of rooms that were being offered with the discounts, does anyone know?

Like if I have my ressie made already, and a code comes out, should I be looking for it continually and jumping on it the morning it comes out? Or since I have it made already, will it just be a code that they'll apply?

I had the 40% off code attached to my name.
It was a FEB/March promotion.
We stayed Dec 19th thru the 26th using the code.
Our rooms at the Poly ran about $215 a night.
With all the new rules, I am certain I will never see that rate at Christmas again.

Mine was an email pin, and the last day available was Dec.19th but they let me get the discounted rate through my stay up to Dec.28. I think now they won't let you do that anymore,as they have changed their pricing structure.

we stayd at por from the 18-26 got 40% off room rate from an email i rcvd before booking, and I had never been to wdw prior to this visit. i have no idea how i got on that list, but i was sure glad i did. it would depend on the cm you speak to, my ta called several times before getting someone who allowed her to use this code with the dining plan, but we finally got it. i am not an ap or have a disney visa card.

call and add it on. pin codes are something to be considered a coupon. if you get it woo-hoo! if not, think of how great your vcation is going to be.

Just as a rule of thumb, I would expect to see a code for the first part of December. And any code would probably end 12/19, as others posted.
With the daily rates I would also not expect a discount code to continue after Decemeber 19, through the end of the year no matter when you checked in.
Never say never. But that would be my bet.

There is always a limited number of rooms available -- code or not. So most likely there will not be an issue switching a res to a different code. However be prepared -- esp around holidays -- that is a possibility. Or you may even have to switch room views or resorts for the code.

I used the 40% code last December from 19th to 27th at SSR. Paid $222 for a 1 bed villa for the whole stay as we checked in on the last day of value season. They are not doing that this year and I would have to pay $575 a night for the same holiday (not in a million years!) SSR is a fantastic resort but its not $575 a night fantastic! The code was not attached to my name I just rang and asked if I could use it and they said no problem. Will be back for my usual 3 weeks from 6th Dec this year. Staying at Bonnet Creek for the whole time unless they change their policy on the value v holiday season prices but I won;t hold my breath.
Also got the 30% off AP rate the year before at FW for the same dates and again paid value rate.

They have absolutely no problem bookings rooms it seems at whatever price during the Christmas season. I woud not expect any discounts during that time unless there is a lot of rooms available. At this time they really don't seem to have a reason to offer a discount when at that season people are just happy to have a room, period, and pay.

I will be interested to see how the bookings go this year. I still find it hard to believe that people will pay $575 to stay at SSR when I guess they are spending most of their time at the parks. We always stay at Disney at the end of our 3 week holiday when we are just relaxing. Even at $222 I would feel like ot was a lot to pay when I was only sleeping there. You can stay in a 2 bed at Bonnet Creek for $120 a night. When we were there from 19th last year, I can honestly say that there were practically no other families staying in our block until 24th. I couldn't believe how empty it was and we were in the Grandstand building nearest the main building. That was when there had been a 40% deal at value rate so I think they will struggle to fill it up at holiday prices. Interested in other peoples thoughts.

We're arriving 12/13, departing 12/19 also! I have received discounts in the past (way past) for early December so was hopeful!! We'll be at POR. DS#1 and his fiance getting married 12/15 at Yacht Club gazebo with dinner to follow at CRT!

If I understand you right if you have a ressie made & they have a discount after you made it? You would have to call back as soon as you can. Disney only allow so many rooms per resorts for it's discount. They use to modify your ressie but the last two years the room type & resort has to be showing before they will give it to you other word they'll redo the package (that what they told me) One year a discount came out & I called first thing nothing showing so I couldn't modify my ressie. Nor would they take my ressie & give me the % off like they use to do in the past. My guess Disney got smart & didn't want to lose money by giving you a discount on the package you already made. Now before anyone flame me. This is what I have encounter. Some may have gotten the discount but what I was told the room type & resort has to be showing to be given the discount. Also Disney will not go back and apply the discount unless you call if I read your post right. If & when a discount comes out call & find out that is the only way you will know Good Luck !
