What was Disney thinking??!

We returned from a short trip on Monday and I still haven't gotten over how terrible the Stitch attraction is. Believe me when I say I love just about everything at Disney. But this is the worst thing I've seen at any park. And shame on me for not doing my homework, but I figured "how bad could it be?" Boy, was I wrong. I hated the Alien Encounter attraction and this one is even worse. I couldn't believe that it was the same inside as AE was. Does anyone actually like this attraction? :confused3

I agree, it is not a good "ride", no way would we waist a minute on it on any of our trips again.

I also dislike the Stitch ride. I actually DID like Alien Encounter, but it wasn't anywhere near my top favorites, still -- it was beter than Stitch. But I do think I know what Disney was thinking. They were thinking, "We spent a lot of money on this, and small children and those who don't speak English well don't follow the sarcasm and get scared, so we'll re-do it, make the 'alien' Stitch because little kids won't be afraid of him, and then we just have to update some of it and keep the expensive set-up in use." That's what I think the thought process consisted of.

I haven't been on Stitch, but was on Alien when it was there, and while I personally enjoyed it (I'm a sci-fi fanatic, what can I say?) I thought that there was no way it belonged at the MK. Stitch was in soft opening during my last trip, but my DD was 4 and I didn't want to separate from the rest of the group anyway, so I just asked a CM about it. She started giving it the glowing "fun Stitch-filled experience" speech and I kind of cut her off and asked if it was the same ride it was before with a replaced alien. She looked kind of meek, said "yeah, pretty much" and I asked her if anyone had told corporate that the big problem was not that the alien itself was too scary for little kids, you could put Mickey himself in there and it would terrify most people and that it was a "mean" scary, not a "fun" scary. As I was talking to her a lot of parents with little ones started backing out of the line . . . frankly, I don't feel bad about that. The CM lowered her voice and said "I don't think the new version will go over well either."

I definitely agree. While Alien Encounter wasn't our favorite attraction, it was much better than Stitch. We went on it during EMH last year and there was absolutely no wait for it. Good thing we went then...I would have hated to wait a long time for that!

Okay not trying to get flamed :furious: but I am not sure what everyone was expecting with STITCH? I think they took a very undisney attraction AE and put in a very friendly disney attraction. True it is still on the same idea of AE but I thought it was cute. The Stitch in the middle looks real :stitch: I love when he ruffles your hair and asks to be your friend. Not every attraction in disney is going to be a coaster or god forbid another boring dark ride they have been done to death. Its not the worst thing I have ever done at disney (malstrom and Its a small world) and not the best but I think and let me state that again I think its's not bad :confused3

I completely agree. I only went on it b/c my DD6 is a huge Stitch fan & my DH swore she'd like it. (of course, he researched no part of our trip. I did & I knew better, but let myself be talked into it.) Anyways, when it was over, my DD just sat there & said, "Now I want to go on the Stitch RIDE." It took me 5 minutes to convince her that we had just done the ride. Pretty sad when even a 6 year old is not impressed!

Sorry, I liked the attraction (not ride). I thought it was different. I wouldn't stand in line over 10 minutes to enter though.

I went on it, I wasn't overlly impressed with it. Probably won't go on it again, but I can say yeah I went on that.

The Stitch "attraction" didn't do much for me or my family. We did it a couple of times right after it opened (November of 2004 I think). On our most recent trip I steered us toward Tomorrowland so that we could get that one over with at the start of the day. The kids said "Dad, we can just skip Stitch". What a relief! I don't care if I ever smell a fake chili dog again

I'm not impressed with the character of Stich anyway, so I definitely didn't care for the attraction. AE was so much better!

We went on the Stitch attraction last week and thought it was a waste of Disney money and our time. Our opinion was "How Gross!" My mom just kept saying "Disgusting!" She thinks Stitch is a bad example anyway.
Oh well, at least we experienced it so we can honestly say we hated it and we only waited in line a few minutes!
