What VIP Tour Guides Can do...

God Bless all of you that can afford this.....or choose to pay for this service. With Disney prices constantly increasing I am always looking for a way to save money, not spend more of it.

But if not I'm talking about the part of referring to people who weren't on a VIP tour as "peasants." I don't teach my children to think differently or talk down about people who aren't able to experience the same things that we do.
The humor (imo) is not in criticizing other guests. Especialy ones of more limited means. My family has been there, and we all know we could end up there again. But I believe humor can come from a juxtaposition of the expected and the reality, and this comparison is extremely pronounced when on a VIP tour. The "peasants" line was my way of prodding the guide to acknowledge just how absurd the level of service is.

Even if in jest, it's poor taste especially if it's a younger child who wouldn't know any better.
The "peasants are revolting" is from a 1981 mel Brooks film, but the gag has been in play since Baum put it into his second wizard of oz book. My child is a very aware 14 year old now and even a few years ago was adept at jests one may find in poor taste.

But I would riposte the critique a bit and ask that complaints about humor in poor taste come from people who have never laughed at a mel Brooks movie. Otherwise, it would smack of rank hypocrisy; it would stink on ice.

We have looked at it before and have never pulled the trigger. I would love to find friends going at the same time to split it with. Have had multiple friends in the past go and do it that way and they loved it.

Has anybody done the tour that includes certain rides only? And it's like $499 a day?

  • Pricing: Varies between $425 and $625 per hour, depending on the season (valid admission is required for each park and not included in the price of this tour).
Also calculate that you need park hopper tickets for the VIP day, as admission to the park is NOT included in the price and you need a park hopper unless you plan to spend all 7 hours in one park.

...Lord have mercy.
