What VIP Tour Guides Can do...

We have a VIP tour booked this fall. It’s a surprise for my mom’s birthday. Any thoughts on a good special birthday request while we have the guide?

would a not quite 3 year old count as a guest? I'm guessing not.

Also, what about those in the group that don't do rides....poultry exits only.

Not sure about the under three child. I think everyone counts towards the 10 person limit. The non thrill riders definitely count.

We did this tour with my brother’s family. He has two non thrill riders. They either waited or the VIP tour guide offered to take them on something else while the rest were doing a thrill ride.

I think @rlk is right about the under 3 year old counting in the headcount. Obviously they don’t need park admission, but I think they do count for the total for tour purposes. But, I’m not completely sure about that.

If your mom has a favorite character who does character greetings be sure and tell DSS and they can find out where and when the character will be at a park(if there is no fast pass line for it you will have to stand in line). Any show your mom would like to see ? Last fall on our vip tour we saw both river of lights and illuminations which was great as your guide can quickly get you from one place to another.

Some other thoughts...VIP tours are great during super crowded times like run Disney races and holidays . The vip tour is an early Christmas present for DH and I and as others have said can you get you on rides like flight of passage that is sooo hard to get a FP and you don’t want to wait 3 hours in line.

The under 3 counts in the party total. We have a group of 11 (which included a child under 3) and would have had to pay for 2 guides. They take all ages into that count for the party like they do for dining reservations.

Mine was going to say "I'm Celebrating my VIP Tour" but the guide took my sharpie away. They kinda try to keep it on the down-to-earth.
And I spent the first half of it trying to get our guide to refer to the other guests as peasants. She wouldn't. But at the very end we see a huge crowd of people and my daughter yells out, "sure the peasants are revolting" and the guide finished the bit from the movie, which was funny because my daughter had never seen ''istory of the world'

What a great role model.

I believe the poster was making a joke and that his/her daughter didn't really yell that out. Maybe it was a reference to when the show Blackish went to Disney and had a VIP tour.

Every human being counts in the maximum of 10 people per guide. Even infants.

  • Parties larger than 10 Guests will require more than one VIP Tour Guide at the current rate. Please be aware that all party members—including infants—count toward the total number of Guests in your group.

We have done VIP more than once at WDW (though I feel I can do pretty close to VIP at DLR with MP now). It is an insane amount of money, and we are a party of 6 only. But, there are trips where it is worth it to us and others where we don't do it. As to why anyone would spend this type of money on one day, that's an individual answer I think. Many people spend a lot of money on concert tickets for 3 hours, First Class plane tickets for the duration of the flight, etc, so it is just another choice of how to spend your money. For me, I own my own business, and when I am out of the office, no one else can bill and no money is generated. I still have to pay my staff to be there while I am gone. So more time spent away from my practice costs me more (no paid vacation when here!). So consolidating our vacation to fewer days saves me a significant amount in lost income. Thus, getting the vast majority of rides/shows/experiences into one day is valuable to me. That may not hold true for others who have paid vacation days, and have more time to spread out what they want to accomplish at the parks over many days.

  • Pricing: Varies between $425 and $625 per hour, depending on the season (valid admission is required for each park and not included in the price of this tour).
Also calculate that you need park hopper tickets for the VIP day, as admission to the park is NOT included in the price and you need a park hopper unless you plan to spend all 7 hours in one park.

I don't watch a lot of TV so if the whole thing is riffing off of that episode then OK.
But if not I'm talking about the part of referring to people who weren't on a VIP tour as "peasants." I don't teach my children to think differently or talk down about people who aren't able to experience the same things that we do. Even if in jest, it's poor taste especially if it's a younger child who wouldn't know any better. But, given the lack of context I guess it was premature to comment on it.

I am assuming and hoping that was the reference, otherwise, it is definitely in poor taste.

Ever heard of a joke/being sarcastic?
Probably not a good idea to take every post made as literal. Lots of people make posts that are tongue in cheek.

Agreed! Never really looked at the price and this thread intrigued me. The peak price for one day would easily cover 2, week-long solo trips for me. Dropping $3-4K in one day on vacation? No thanks.
Even if money were no object for us I don't think these are something we'd do ourselves. But we prefer a slower pace and have never felt a need to cram in a lot in a little time. For those that do, I can see it

That's why I said I thought it was a joke.
