I know about Fabvillas, but what other house rental places are there that are trustworthy?

If you search this board, you will find some posts that list a whole bunch. Some that I know and have used are vrbo.com, findvacationrentals.com, vacationrentals.com, orlandovillas.com. If you do a google search, you will come up with a lot. Also, if you have a particular size or subdivision in mind, try doing a google search like "4 bed villa Windsor Hills" or something like that. Good luck, and have fun!

The following are sites where the site owners require the owners who advertise to verify ownership of their villas every 6 months by sending them a copy of a utility bill/proof of ownership

for windsor hills try global resort homes, they were wonderful

Nothing wrong with that suggestion at all, but they're a MC (Management Company), so you're going to pay more for the same place!

The beauty of the websites mentioned above is you're getting owner direct pricing. MCs typically take anywhere from 10%-50% of the rental income from the owners, therefore charge a higher rate. Some guests are more comfortable dealing with a larger company for sure, but bottom line is you're going to be in the same homes! Some MCs won't even let you pick the specific home, they'll just tell you it's Windsor Hills and a 3 bedroom, for instance (I don't know if Global does this or not).

Why pay more for the same thing?

Hi we have rented a private villa for our last 2 trips from the same person and have loved it every time. They are from the UK the same as us and their rental company is call villarentals.com:wizard:

Actually, you can view every home, with tons of pics at their website. They also offer either Free rental car, week of pool heat, or 10% discount if you ask when booking. They were great, house was immaculate, and when we decided to stay an extra day while we were there, they were great. I just like the aspect that if something is not working properly, then I have the availability to call and have someone come right away. When I used them last year, I checked into private owners and they were very competetive, especially after 10% discount.

Well, you still have the option for onsite support from MCs when booking through owners, just so you know! I'm not saying they're "bad" or anything, quite the opposite. Every homeowner employs a MC in the resort to do 3 things: 1. look after our guests 2. look after our properties and 3. get us bookings. Even if the booking is direct from the owner, the MC is still there to take care of #1 and #2, the MC just doesn't get their commission on the booking! Global, for instance, manages quite a few homes in Windsor Hills, but they're always on call for any guest or property issues that arise if the owner you rented from uses them as their MC!

We all have MCs for these reasons!

i did not know that. sorry. i am still learning myself. definitely good to know for the future! i am not advocating to use global over a direct owner, i was only saying we had a really good experience booking through them.
