Hi everyone! I am so happy to find this board and sorry to inundate you with questions but there is just such great information here!

So basically the title says it all... which of the three locations have you had and do you recommend it? Any pictures are much appreciated! I am basically torn between them all as they all have their positives and negatives.

Thank you!

I have pictures of all three venues HERE. Personally, I love the woodsy, lake setting of Sunrise Terrace, and it was where we were going to have our Escape wedding if we'd eloped. I also love that it has an indoor space attached, so if you were going to bring your own cake, you could serve it there. But it is actually the least popular of the three locations—maybe because you can see Cinderella's castle from the other two!

Thank you! Your wonderful pictures are part of why it is so hard for me to pick just ONE! :)

Wilderness Lodge was our initial instinct but now we are not as sure. I am hoping for a 10am ceremony... it looks a little dark in some of the photos there and I haven't been able to find a whole ton of ceremony pictures there. Do you think lighting is an issue?

I love the privacy of Wilderness Lodge Sunrise Terrace that is a big positive for us.

Maybe I'm naive, but hopefully the reason they named it "Sunrise Terrace" is that it has a view of the sunrise... And on Google maps, the whole back of the resort faces northeast, so I'd say the terrace will be plenty bright at 10am.

I got married at the wilderness lodge in May. We love the outdoors and the rustic feel. It all depends on which venue fits you guys best!

That's a good point about the direction! If we were planning on having lunch after, what is a good option that is easy to get to in the Magic Kingdom area? Something more than burgers but less than California Grill ;)

Well, the Whispering Canyon Cafe IS in the Lodge but I'm not QUITE sure it's where I'd eat right after I got married. ;-)

I'd go to the Grand Flo to the cafe, people seem to really like that.

The Wave at the Contemporary is also a nice in-between choice, and you can get a private room for a fairly low minimum if you want it (though at lunchtime it'll probably be so empty you won't need one).

I was thinking The Wave as well just based on internet searching. I saw that you can take the boat over from Wilderness to Contemporary. Is that a fairly easy process?

Yes, just go down the paths by the pool to the dock and look for signs telling you which side to be on for which boat. :thumbsup2

Thank you everyone for the feedback! We have decided to try for Luau beach because of the proximity to the restaurants at the Poly since we will be doing either breakfast or lunch after. Thank you all such much! :beach:
