My husband and I would like to take our son to WDW when he's 8 months old. I'd also like to do a cruise. But I'm concerned it may be too much vacation for our little one. What would you do and why?

1 week at WDW with a 7 day cruise
1 week at WDW with a 4 day cruise
4 nights at WDW with a 7 day cruise
4 nights at WDW with a 4 day cruise

If you want to do the cruise, I say do the cruise. Definitely do it at the end of the vacation like you mention. If you have the time and money, a week at each would be great, but that might be too much for your baby.

We took our DS on the 7 day Disney cruise at 10 months. He did fine except for getting horribly, horribly sick. It kept us from putting him in the babysitting service for a parents night out. We had a room with a verandah and loved that DH and I could sit outside while they kids slept at night. There's lots of great tips for cruising with babies on the Cruise forum here. One of the best things we did was buy a UV suit (Suncatchers, I think) for DS so we didn't have to constantly sunscreen him.

We just got back from a week at WDW and our youngest is 7months. She did great. It was a lot of work, and definitely tiring traveling with her (and a 2yo and a 4yo). I had a padded solarveil sling and she took naps in that and we were able to keep going and it worked well. We all had a good time, but were tired at the end. I think 4 days in the parks and a cruise after would have been nice and probably the right length for us.
