What UY points were used for a reservation

is there a way to understand what points (current UY, banked, borrowed) were used for a specific reservation?

I called MS to get that answer, I found the information on the DVC website a bit confusing and I wanted to be sure I didn't make a mistake. Better to make the call then to make a mistake with those points.

When you made the reservation, there was a link on the last page, just before confirming the contracts you wish to use. It says something along the lines of “how points are taken” and will open a window that shows how many points in holding, banked, borrowed and current UY will be applied.

I’ve done mock modifications of an existing reservation (different resort, dates or view) without completing it. This brings me to the same page where I can click the link to see how points would be taken. As long as I didn’t make and then cancel an earlier reservation that used banked/borrowed/holding points, this is a true indicator of the points that were used for this reservation. The key here is to NOT complete the modification or you end up with a new reservation that you don’t want. It’s not foolproof but it helped a lot last month when I needed to move points around for a big family trip with multiple rooms.

I just booked a studio this morning for January, as I'll have 46 banked points that expire next June. The one thing I would've liked on the page where you select which contract number to draw points from is showing which contracts have banked points. Now you have to look and see which contracts have more points available than their contract amount and select all of them to use up the banked points first. Not really a problem, but having that info on the screen would be handy. I will say, at least those with banked points were at the top of the list. And I have 4 contracts, all the same resort and use year, I imagine having the banked points info available on screen would really be great for people with a LOT of contracts.
